That's how exciting and engaging her performance was on Wednesday's episode of Law & Order. I was surprised by her "phoning it in" considering she's one of the new "it" girls on AMC's Mad Men and is featured on the cover of the new Vanity Fair "Hollywood" issue.

Her character is basically a lying sociopathic killer, who plays the NYPD and FBI against each other in order to get out of her multiple crimes. You'd think she'd be more shiftier, freakier, more conniving, more... anything! Seriously, she was making me sleepy watching her scenes. The other characters were supposed to be shocked and appalled by her complete lack of emotions as she tricked her way through the justice system. Instead, they had trouble playing off her bored, expressionless, monotone performance. It was just sad.

The moral of this story: Tree stumps do not make for compelling TV.
