I remember I was in 2nd year college when Acapulco Heat was aired in the Philippines and I always, as in, always watched it, I didnt missed any episode, hehehe. I love Spencer Rochfort who plays "Brett" and Alison "Cat". I am so sad they had to end it, though. Reruns, please!
I still remember the theme..."I feel the heat!!" the only thing I liked about the show...before I went to bed!
The show jumped when second season Ashley and Mike were gone. I bought the DVD's for the 2 seasons and was upset when I found this out. The show needeed them.
Ok, so there were two actors of mexican/hispanic actors (that guy on JAG and the some older dude)origin that awful, awful show. Maybe I so sickened by the horrid acting (I didn't have a cable at the time, so I had to take what I could get) I didn't notice.
No program with someone as hunky as Spencer Rochfort could jump. Okay, so maybe this was a dumb program. But at least the stars on it were pretty or hunky, which is more than you could say for Baywatch.
One day the show was a bunch of cool, attractive spies, and the next, the entire cast changes to boring losers...what's that all about!
This show jumped from the start--it was so implausible that there was no rescuing it. The most ludicrous aspect was to supposedly have these female secret agents who were capable of working alongside their male colleagues, but they always have to be rescued by the men and never really get in on the action--see, for example, the time Tommy has to save Cat from a python.
This show rocks!!!!! It never jumped and hopefully never will jump! Kelso is the best part of the whole freaking show!!! I'm gonna mary him someday...we will have little stupid babies together...it's gonna be so beautiful!! (sniff sniff)
When Fabio left the show due to excessive violence (before he got hit in the face with a duck)
HEAT jumped when they got rid of all the cast..save two and added two new chicks. Now I liked the blonde computer whiz but that was it. They need to stick with one cast and do it right.
Babe-O-Rama. And that guy Fabio must've had a great agent. Talk about a no-show job.
When most of the team (Mike, Ashley) were not on the show any more
Original season was cheesy, but good. Writing & acting superior to Baywatch (not saying much). But this show had plenty of action, special effects, tropical locations, beautiful babes in bikinis... Jumped when they completely revamped the cast and ran out of money after the first season (cut corners with locations, special effects, etc). 2nd season of Acapulco H.E.A.T. wasn't even picked up in US markets.
This is a show that had potential. It wasn't great, but it was a lot more enjoyable than most anything in syndication nowadays. I watched the show regularly for a long time and then stopped for a period. When I picked it back up the cast had totally changed, and the only one they did keep was (gasp!) Fabio! While this wasn't a great show to begin with, the original cast was very good and major casting changes usually signal the beginning of the end for a show.
Alison Armitage as "Cat" was the main reason I watched the show, but it was always interesting as well as entertaining to me. I enjoy the reruns when I can find them.
