What's the hell is goin on? In the morning they cut the power, then I found Trojan horse in my computer. Buddy Hackett went out on top with his contributions to this series. Jay Mohr provd he can do more than his spot-on Christopher Walken impression. Fox has such a bad record with these genius shows like "Andy Richter Controls The Universe", "Greg The Bunny", "The Tick", "Family Guy", even "Futurama". And "Arrested Development" seems on shaky ground. "Action" belongs on any list of shows they burned bright and died too young. And when any discussion of best final episodes comes up, let them quote the last FOX episode punchline: "Time of death, Thursday night, Nine PM." (Or was it 9:30? It's been a while since I watched it.)
I loved this show. I simply thought it was much too smart, funny and satiric for the typical American TV audience ( whatever that is). I thought Jay Mohr was at his best, funny and sexy. I wish someone would rerun it and decide to bring it back.
One of the all-time greatest comedies. Jay Mohr was so perfect as Peter Dragon. "You're pitching me OJ Simpson." "Kids in Calcutta know his face." "Yeah, they know to RUN AWAY from it!" God damn, that is some funny, well written stuff. I still use Peter's line "you know, I think I just threw up, in my mouth" to this day. Action was ahead of its time and damn FOX for taking it off the air. May the powers that be at FOX go straight to hell with gasoline pants on and be forced to watch all of their own programming!
This show never jumped. I agree with the above posters regarding the acting talents of Jay Mohr. I was never a big fan until I saw him in Action - now I think he's a genius. I just saw the episode again with Scott Wolf - this was one of the funniest TV episodes of all time, from the scenes in the Rehab centre - to the funeral "Why the long face" and "Ya, he liked to share" (The addict star who obviously stole his drugs) to the meeting between Peter Dragon and Scott Wolf. Scott hopping up onto the desk and jumping off was hilarious. Mohr nailed this character!
