I agree with virtually all the criticisms here of BW.

As noted, the "most fascinating people" is a crock. In reality, it is "10 celebrities who agreed to talk to me for this show". Doesn't matter whether they are fascinating/important or not.

Barbara jumped decades ago when she ceased being a newswoman (though she and the network still called her one) and became a celebrity butt-munch.
I will never ever understand what the world has seen talent wise in Baba Wawa. Her specials and idiotic interviews make me laugh, cry and vomit all at the same time. No wonder she gets these so-called exclusive interviews with people who never give them. She's going to ask all the stupid questions that an amature therapist would dish out. "What would you rather be right now, a dog or a motorcycle fender from an old Harley?"..No wonder Harry Reasoner couldnt stand her.
DEAR BARBARA.
IN ALL THE INTERVIEWING FOR RPLACEMENTS OF ROSIE, AND STAR, I AS WELL AS OTHERS THIK IT IS TIME TO CHOSE A "MALE" FOR THE VIEW. ALTHOUG WHOOPIE IS GOOD, CERTAINLY "NOT" CATHY GRIFFIN. MOZT OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW WHO ENJOY THE VIEW, WOULD NOT. SHE IS MORE
A GYPSY ROSE LEE TYPE. AND ON THE ROUGH SIDE. CERTAINLY WE DON'T FEEL SHE WOULD FIT IN. IT IS CERTAILY YOUR CHOICE, IT IS ONLY OUR OPINION. EVEN THE COMEDY FELLOW MARIO WOULD NOT LAST TOO LONG.. JUST A NICE LOOKING MALE WOULD DO THE TRICK, AND CERTAINLY ADD A LOT TO THE SHOW,AS EVEN THE AUDIANCE WOULD GO FOR IT. CHECK IT OUT WIT THEM WHEN THE VIEW IS ON.

THAMK YOU

During the first season of view SNL stated that Barbara Walter had to end it there or any crediblity she had left would be gone. Well it is more then gone. Watching this show is like drinking 100 proof stuff, you can just feel the brain cells dying. Only thing that could be worse would be in book club with Paris Hiliton.

Wow! Absolutely fascinating. If you think there isn't big-time censorship at this site, think again.

It was posted here recently that BW was not a good interviewer, and the opinion that she remains on tv because of her political connections. Anyone over 40 can easily follow that trail without help.

Why was that comment (made AFTER February 2007) expunged within the last few weeks? Because the author identified the political connections, or some of them, and revealed something that should be public knowledge, that she, along with others posing as entertainment types, is a member of the one-world-government group, the Council on Foreign Relations. This semi-secret organization has a blatant agenda, and why should it not be told that people pretending to entertain us, have this agenda and hype it on their entertainment programs?

My my - what blatant censorship.
I just watched the recent Barbara Walters Special retrospective "30 Mistakes in 30 Years", and in this special I saw clips of her interviewing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Shrek?!?!?!? How the hell did Barbara Walters maintained her credibility and integrity after those stupid and retarded interviews?!?!?!?
The sharks closed in big time when Barbara Walters chose Camilla Parker Bowles now the Duchess of Cornwall as the most fascinating person of 2005. Maybe Ms. Walters wants an invite to a castle, but really, Camilla Parker Bowles. How ridiculous, though homewreckers should approve her choice.
After the Suzanne Somers interview. During the exchange, Walters showed a full nude layout of Somers and, if I remember correctly, it was NOT censored. You can decide for yourself if it was beautiful or indecent, but where could she go after that?
If there was a television reporter that could make Larry King seem interesting, it has to be Barbara Walters. That brown-noser, er, reporter totally JTS with her lame specials where she kisses the behinds of overexposed celebrities like Tom Cruise. Baba Wawa is an insult to the entire journalism profession. Her stupid questions are ten times worse than what Larry King asks. I would love to find out if there is one person on this planet that actually takes Baba Wawa seriously. When I do find that person, Hell will have frozen over.
This show jumped the very second that Babs opened her mouth. I just HATE her so much. I swear that she must have taken some discount diction lessons in preparation for becoming an interviewer. She over annunciates all her words and she speaks in this fake accent that's region of origins could never be accounted for. The sound of her voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
In 2003, I was getting excited about the Barbara Walters special I watch every year no matter how much it stank. Then the war started and the show was deemed inappropriate. By the time it came on, the Oscars were over and scheduled guest Julianne Moore and Renee Zellweger's comments seemed odd since the Oscars were over a month before.
I must admit I have (sometimes) watched these specials (or had them on) only because I was making munchies for the Oscars, or ironing shirts for the next day at work, etc. and listening more than watching (which in itself is *interesting*). While I agree with EVERY SINGLE CRITICISM of Babwa Wawa, here are a few more: 'dancing' with Eastwood and Pacino, blathering over Diana Ross + kids after the aborted Supremes tour, (maybe that was 20/20, but Babwa is Babwa, regardless of the broadcast), and on and on and on..........but the WORST was her 'benediction' to then President-elect Jimmy Carter, "be good to us". (barf bag, please).
Jump the shark when when she asked for and got a kiss from Julianne Moore. I'm not against women kissing women, or against men kiss men for the most part, but my God Barbara, that was terrible!!
A TV show once asked Vincent Price if he had any fears, he half-jokingly replied 'Yes, being interviewed by Barbara Walters!' . Need I say more?
