Never Jumped
They always used the same footage of Bigfoot jumping

This show obviously had a profound impact on me I mean here I am 36 years old commenting on a show I loved as a child 27 or 28 years ago , I wouldnt even want to watch it now and take the risk of robbing myself of wonderful childhood memories of Bigfoot and Wildboy.
You know...its easy to sit here and read all the negative posts about the "same footage" or bad special effects, but know what-that didnt bother me in the least..it was adventure and non-stop action for a 8 year old kid on Saturday mornings--thanks for the memories
Saw an episode of this on a triple DVD called 'The World Of Sid And Marty Krofft'. Incredible. It's the stuff from which a satisfyingly daft ten-second 'Simpsons' or 'Family Guy' sidetrip might be woven, but evidently it was actually commissioned and presented as a serious live-action children's TV series. If the early Krofft shows were 'psychedelic', then this one was 'keg dregs and a hit of crack'. I do not have the words to adequately describe this thing. You really must see it for yourselves.
Love this as a kid, I remember 1 show where they fought a Yedi and his "wild boy" Beat the hell out of Electra-women and Dyno-Girl= "groan"
One thing that bothered me was that everytime Bigfoot would use his great jumping ability they used the same clip of it over and over again. I swear I could see the same tree in the backgrond no matter where it was that he was jumping. It wasn't on long enough to truly jump the shark
the production values on big foot and wild boy were tremendous. they always showed the same footage of big foot catting about in the woods. ive trained my dog to come whenever i yell biyabbah.
Never had a chance to jump the shark. I still remember Wildboy's Tarzan call...BY-AH-BAH! I used to drive my parents nuts with that. They should remake this with Haley Joel Osment and Robin Williams.
I only saw this show a couple of times. Once, it was only for half an episode. (My Dad made us switch it off, for reasons I'll explain in a moment) It was, as another poster said, a rarity. Seems like there weren't many episodes and it wasn't seen everywhere. But, really, the key to this might be found in the book IRON JOHN which discusses the mythical big, hairy man who kidnaps the boy and gives him a ride on his shoulders and they go out in the woods and get in touch with their masculinity. This show was more homoerotic than Batman and Robin, for goodness sake! My Dad took one look at the opening credits one day and said, NO WAY, YOU ARE NOT WATCHING THIS. For this reason alone--the fact that something so subversive got past the powers-that-be and had its brief moment of glory--qualifies as "never jumped." They never had time for the show to, for example, "adopt a brat." History lesson, somebody. How many episodes of this were done, anyway?
Great Saturday morning-fodder - I loved the theme music. Remember how Bigfoot could pick Wildboy up and hurl him through the air for like mile? Too cool!
This show NEVER jumped the shark. I've read all of the posts and I can't believe no one mentioned that lasso that wildboy used to have clipped to the side of his loincloth. Fabulous! Belongs in a time capsule somewhere.
This show was probably the best entertainment a kid could have on Saturday morning that wasn't animated. There's no way this show EVER jumped.
This show is legendary among my friends - basically because many of them didn't believe it existed! My brother and I faithfully watched the show every Saturday morning. I was a member of Wildboy's fan club. Joseph Butcher was Wildboy. I still have the autographed photo, fan club membership card, newsletters, poster, and best of all, an 8x10 of Bigfoot and Wildboy together!! Just like all the other Krofft shows, this one was truly bizarre. If only the Kroffts still made live action bizarro shows like this, I'd be in heaven.
I GREW UP WATCHING SHOWS FROM SID AND MARTY KROFT. THIS WAS DEFINITELY ONE OF MY FAVORITES. JUST SEEING IT POSTED ON THIS SITE BROUGHT BACK SO MANY MEMORIES. ONLY WISH THAT THEY WOULD HAVE MADE MORE EPISODES OF THE SHOW. SEEMS LIKE THERE WERE ONLY A FEW MADE.
Although Wildboy had limited connections to modern civilization (just though contact with the bad guys and that chic friend of his), he spoke perfect English. More amazingly, Bigfoot could speak no English, but understood everything Wildboy told him. Goddamn amazing! A classic... eclipsing Sid and Marty Kroft's previous masterpiece Land Of The Lost.
