The show jumped when they started turning into super heroes, mermaids, Valkyries, etc.
I love the show and still watch in re-runs.

CHARMED NEVER JUMPED!!!
It was great, amazing and awesome from the first till the last episode!! Prue's death was like loosing someone of my own family but Paige's storyline was a great storyline to continue Charmed. Barbas was one of the best demons and Billie brought a whole new fresh story that should have continued in a spin-off.
Charmed didn't went ahead with Buffy's succes and had always GREAT actresses and actors!!
Charmed is and always will be one of the BEST shows ever!!

Never mind about when the show jumped...is it just my imagination or does the career of every single musical guest tank once they've been on the show?
Being a musical guest on "Charmed" is the Ted McGinley for musicians!

i think it just began to jump when chris got into the story because the hole story was just about "save wyatt from a hell of a demon" and at the end the demon just came at the middle of the 7th season. and also it jumped at the beginning of the 8th season, i have to agree with the main writer it had to end with their "death" and the new idenitites.
To be perfectly honest, I think it jumped after Prue died. From every episode onwards it just seemed to turn more and more into the married life of Piper and Leo while thier kids repeatedly turn up form the future. That and and only an occasional major problem (they couldn't really die anymore since Leo, Chris, Paige or every other Wightlighter was there to bail them out and heal them every single time) just made for uninteresting watching.
I liked it when Prue was all diva-ish (and still alive!), Piper wasn't married with several kids from the future and Phoebe was spunky and not all depressed after Cole.

I never found the show quite as enjoyable after Cole left. I loved his character and despite the constant rehashing between good and evil it shockingly never felt like too much of a drag on, which is certainly commending to the writers. The last season was a definitely a rush job, although that is not surprising given the financial situations the show had.
Although I like the series, I think it should have ended when they had no idenities and thus could begin new lives. The sole compliment I have to the finale was the huge battle between the sisters (both sets) had quite a bit of flare to make it intriguing. The ending itself felt leading and was an overall disoppointment.

Cool show when Prue was on. When she left it jts big time. Don't these producers ever learn that when Shannen leaves any show it goes downhill immediately.
OK, so it was always poised by the shark tank, ready to take that leap, but I found that Julian Mcmahon and Drew Fuller actually saved the show in their respective seasons. Chris' death was when it actually jumped the shark.
I LOVED SHANNEN, I HATED ROSE, BUT KNOW I LOVE HER TOO. BILLI IT'S GREAT BUT NOT IN CHARMEND, EVEN THOU I AM A FAN OF CHARMEND, I THINK IT SHOUL'VE ENDED ON SEASON 7-IT WAS THE PERFECT END. COLE IS MY SWEETHEART, SO EVEN WHEN EVERYBODY SAIS THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN KILLED SINCE THE FIRST TIME, I THINK HE SHOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP USING HIS POWERS FOR GOOD, AND STAY WITH PHOEBE(AFTER ALL, HAVING A BAD SIDE IT'S ALWAYS FUN!) OTHER THING I HATE IS THAT THE DEMON OF FEAR-BARBAS-COULD'T STAY DEAD! I JUST DREAMED TO NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN!
Jumped from day one unless you were an eight to fifteen year old girl. This show was just terrible and you know its bad when Alyssa Milano is the best actress on the show. It's even worse when every time you turn on TNT, it's on. Think they went ahead with this on the success of another supernatural show, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but at least that show had some interesting characters and camp value. This had nothing.
I love the show to the end. Prue had to go because it was all about her. The other sisters were hot and better. When paige came along, she was a good addition to the show.
They should have just found a good Prue recast rather than killing her off and introducing a "new" sister. That was some serious retconning there.
The charmed ones prophecy stated that 3 sisters would form the charmed one, not 3 sisters and a replacement when one of them would die. Paige was a mistake of a character and proved to be nothing but an airhead and was only featured as an "appeal" to men with her skimpy clothing and slutty makeup.
Also Pheobe became a bitch and became very vain and lost that innocent charm she had earlier.
