I miss "Coach" so much.I love it and miss it.My favorite shows centered around the wedding when the bridal gown was burned and of course the famous swinging from the chandelier that Christine so gracefully pulled off.I love Jerry Van Dyke.I adore the whole cast and loved to hate Stewart and Kelly.Stewart the cry baby was a classic. When will this show be back in reruns?
Does Dober do the voice of Patrick on SpongeBob?
Jumped when they moved to Florida (at least it wasn't the cliched NY or LA), but being in wintry Mionnesota added a lot of charm to the show. The cabin was such a fixture that their modern house just didn't seem like a good fit for the rugged Hayden Fox.
I disagree with most of you. The moving to Florida wasnt the reason the show ended. It was the whole annoying baby bit, and the redheaded owner of the team. Anyways, the premise on moving to Florida wasnt too unbelievable. He was a great coach, and he was hired to go pro. Like most college coaching staffs that go pro, he took his coaching staff with him. I personally liked how the Breakers went 1-16 the first season, and made wildcard the next season. Something not unbelievable.
I'm watching an episode of Coach right now (first of doubleheader) and enjoying the hell out of it. As far as the Katherine Helmond issue goes, I like her in Coach and everywhere else too. Art Hibke Lives!
Does No ONE see that this was a representation of the Iowa Hawkeyes???

more - but I can't remember them all
The move from college to the pros was a "mini-jump". It didn't ruin the show but it was not as good. My fav line from this show is when Christine says to Hayden, "You don't even know what's wrong do you?" and he yells, "DO I EVER??!!??" In two simple lines they summed up the average male/female relationship!
christine was a nagging crying controlling bitch who got everything her way.like all sit-coms of the 90's and now, men are stupid and women are smart just like the cosby show and home improvement.
like we need more over paid beer guzzling slobs poking their bellies out
What about the horrible episode that dumb Luther bought the diseased monkey and they all had to be quarentined.
and also the one where they are trying to teach the baby to walk UGH!!!!
Does anyone know which episode it was where Luther kept saying "what do you mean you forbid?" To Hatden?
I could not stand his daughter Kelly!
She seemed like such a whining little brat! She never listened to Hayden and then he always had to bail her out. And then, when she came back to Minnesota to visit from NYC she was a complete jerk!
As a hundred people have already said, the shark jumping was the move to Orlando. The show's heart and soul was Hayden as a cranky but likeable old-school coach of a struggling midwestern college football program. When he went pro and moved to Florida, it just seemed like every other generic sitcom (Katherine Helmond, kids, blah). I don't think it became unwatchable, but it just wasn't the same.
When the series was set in Minnesota, it had a surreal type feel to it. It was sitcom a guy could really get into, football, cabin, steakhouse, etc. After the "move", it lost that feeling and the writing spiraled downward. I just watched the painfully unfunny episode where Luther bought Turtle World in Orlando. The show should have ended before it got that bad.
I hate it when shows change their premise. Moving to Florida was stuuuuuuuuuuuuupid!
