I told you so.I knew this show was good from the start. Now the Globes prove me right.I knew it,I knew it,I knew it!
loved this show. i was under the impression that it was a single season miniseries. i don't see how they will carry another season, hopefully there is as much excitement in store as the first. i think it should have been wrapped up in one season, but maybe there are greater things to come.
LOVE THIS SHOW! That being said, my problem with the show is I thought it was a maxi-series like the Starter Wife. While many of the questions were answered in the season finale and it was very good; Season one was Patty vs. Frobisher and Ellen in jail. Season 2 will be Ellen vs Patty and yet Damages feels like a show with an ending not a show that can go on and on without losing credibility like 24 did.
Could it be Frobisher was the babys father that Patti had been carrying?Did he do something to kill it while Patti wanted it?Is her current son even Michael Nouris? Why did she want to kill her protegee'?Too bad the old clichee was dragged out that all gay people must die a violent end or stay lonely and unhappy.I sure hope another season awaits.Close usually doesn't like to do TV for more than one season but I still hope.
I wanted so much to have a one word comment tonight. I wanted it to be "WOW."
Not a wow!
Well done, certainly. They wrapped things up nicely for the most part. I wasn't surprised that Frobisher's mole shot him, but then I expected him to eat his gun. Like Mischa, I wonder, is he dead?
But they didn't answer Frobisher's question ... Why did Patty hate him so much? I guess we're supposed to think her baby died because of something Frobisher did. Vague.

Great ending and real fodder for another season. We were left satisfied.Patti will get her due,is Frobisher dead?Wether it ends here or goes on for another round,it was an exellent show worth every second. We need more material of this caliber.Called my step-uncle and asked him if he liked it.He just laughed and said"Sure,if you want to pretend things are this civil in real life law and justice".He is a judge.
Love damages, very complex, everyone is not perfect. I still cannot see how they can carry it to a second season... what are they going to do? DO her murder trial next?
Got to go Purple Rain is on TV.....
Got to go Purple Rain is on TV.....
There are many more red herrings in this world than moments of justice. We might not get any and exactly that would make it so real.Too many shows have everything wrapped up in 42 minutes minus commercials where all is avenged and resolved. That is not the world, not this one anyway and for sure not the one Damages is all about.I am a misanthrope....on the upside.
I find the characters more realistic than despicable.Well, half of them have died already anyway. It said "season finale"after the ep,not "series finale" but the same was said with bwuah,aaah,glurb,cry!..."Crossing Jordan."
Most despicable set of characters ever ... they all deserve to die ... this concept is a one trick pony ... and looks like the network gets that as so far it's not being picked up for another season.
Easily one of the top 3 shows on TV right now and certainly the best new show of the Fall 2007 season.
The writing is brilliant. The layering and calculated revealing of the plot lines is expertly done and keeps you dying to know what's coming next. And to be able to watch Glenn Close every week is such a treat.
All the people saying that this moves too slow or could be shrunk down to 5 minutes an episode must have an incapacity to enjoy a well told story. Damages plays out like a well-written novel. And its a page turner!
How will it manage with a second season? Who knows. But the writers have proven themselves talented enough for me to hope they'll be able to pull it off.

Aamah,I totally agree. It's a brilliant, clever show.I just can't picture another season. It has all the earmarks of a limited series but if it stays this good one can only hope.I'll say it again:This show has people acting JUST LIKE THEY DO IN REAL LIFE.Scary, ain't it?
From Aamah: This show is brilliant. The technique of flashbacks can be tiresome and contrived. This show, with it's convoluted plot pulls it off brilliantly. The show is edgy and never fails to leave us with a cliffhanger and anxious to set our DVRs for the next episode. The casting is genius. Of course, Glenn Close owns the part of psychotic control freak dating back to FATAL ATTRACTION. Danson, with a history of being the all-around lovable guy is masterful as the root of all evil.
This show has emphatically NOT jumped the shark!

Mark - I hope you are mistaken about Damages continuing onto a second season. This crawling plot, though enjoyable, needs to end this season. I won't be back if there is a season two.
Great show. It shows a nice girl with an innocent doll-face is being turned into a cold-blooded shark who lifts papers from a murdered man's jacket without calling the police. It even leaves you guessing as to who framed her for murder... I assumed it was Tom, but now it's either the sister or else the psycho stalker.
Plus, they are apparantly leaving the Frobescher trial itself for season 2, and letting Ted Danson stay in the credits... let's hope it does not disappoint.
