I love Sami and EJ I was dying just waiting for them to kiss yesterday. He's so hot and one of the reasons I still watch. And did anyone notice the promo during the last commercial break yesterday with Lucas and Chloe together and Morgan and Phillip kissing? Why would they air that already?
I think Days and most soaps were less interesting in the late 80's, for Days around the time Bo and Hope left town, around 1987.
However it jumped when James E. Reilly began writing the show, what he did to Tony's character, the Gina/Hope storyline, please Hope fell in a vat of acid, this isn't Batman and she isn't the joker, all the clones of Marlena (That may not have been him), Marlena being possessed. I think James was worse then Stefano in his obssession with Marlena or Diedre. All the Kristen/Susan/Nun stuff. All terrible, he ruined Days for me anyway.

Shark jump ahead. When Days starts rewriting history they make a mockery of all their fans. The 6/6 episode has the Brady clan toasting the now deceased Shawn Brady and lauding him for his vision and his dream of making the pub "green". Can somebody tell me when that might have been, because the only green Shawn Brady every cared about was green beer!!!!!!
Enough with Saint EJ. And what's up with the babies? One day Ali is a toddler wandering off and the next days she an infant the size of a doll wrapped in a blanket with voice over by a NEWBORN. EJ is a CRIMINAL and has NO rights over Ali because he is NOT her father. They are making Sami out to be a fool and they are going to render her character unredeemable if they don't stop now. I turned yesterday's episode off because it just isn't what I want to see on Days.
I actually started watching this show because of the Marlena possession storyline. It was the funniest thing I had seen in daytime and I was immediately hooked. If I had watched the show before that, this storyline probably would have turned me off, but it's what got me into the show and I have loved it ever since. I do have to agree with the others about the "green" references they keep crowbarring in there. Enough already. NBC has become obsessed with "going green," which is great, but we don't need the message shoved down our throats every afternoon.
Where to start?
-Ejami. I CAN NOT STAND the pairing of rapist and victim, and refuse to watch a show that would condone such a thing.
-The new John. He isn't funny, he isn't entertaining, and he certainly isn't a character to root for. He is just an arrogant jackass, and they should have just left him dead.
-All the environmental messages.
-The good guys getting thrown behind bars if they so much as jaywalk, wail the villains literally get away with murder.
There is a lot more, but that is what I can think of right of the top of my head.

Anyone else sick of the "green" flavor of the month story they are shoving down our throats? If so, let NBC know that you watch soaps for the stories, NOT for propaganda. If I wanted to watch the news, I most certainly am smart enough to turn it on. Instead I turn on my SOAP to see STORIES. Days is about to politically correct itself into cancellation because this is one viewer who has had enough of their replacing character driven stories with environmental issues. Even if I bought into the whole "global warming" garbage (which I DON'T) I certainly wouldn't tune into a soap opera to get informed!!!!!
Back in 1967, A Sweet Girl named Sandy Horton that she wanted to be a doctor as the program progressed. Even Though Sandy Dated every Boy through her time on the show from 1967 to 1971 & returned as fiancee to Evan Wayland in 1982.
The only reason i started watching this soap is because Marlena was possesed! It was the funniest most watchable soap ever because of that!
There is one reason that I will never ever watch this show ever again, Ejami. I've put up with a lot of crap from the writers of this show, but romantically pairing a rapist with his victim is something that I simply can not and will not tolerate. If this was just some passing thins, if I knew that Ejami wouldn't last I might make myself suffer through it. But it seems like Rapemi is here to stay, and I couldn't be more disgusted. And for those of you who might be wondering, no I'm not a Lumi fan. I'm not even a Sami fan, really. But pairing a rapeist with his victim is just disgusting, and I refuse to watch any show that would condone or promote such a thing. Luke and Laura sucks, and so does Ejami.
The problem with DAYS is that the writers don't know what they are doing, or what they want to do. They kill off characters
to bring them back months later, (John, Lexie) They drag out storylines("secrets") for weeks months or years, because they don't know what they want to do. A perfect example is Chloe, they held off for months and made everyone think Chloe had killed him, just to reveal she was hiding his WEED addiction; big F'n woop. James Scott aka EJ comes on the show as a dashing Extremely hot British playboy, of course, if I were one of the writers I would think it was a bad idea to have him rape one of the main characters on the show, for chance he may become popular(he has) and we might want to hook him up with her later. Instead they are impulsive to tell the rape story and now they write everyone in town to just act like it didn't happen ... and get rid of Lucas by sending him to jail(for shooting the rapist) as to help the viewers forget how screwed up it is for Sami and EJ to be a couple(which they will be)

I feel the show has actually gotten better lately since the whole "Demira Thing" is over. I mean, the Demiras were interesting at first, but then they got super gothic and over-the-top and everything in Salem was a result of Stefano's scheming and the "Curse of the Phoenix" and blah, blah, blah. Although I like Joseph Moscolo (Stefano) I think the show is a lot more believable with him gone. The only Demiras left are Lexie, Tony and Ej (who are all relatively normal) and are just living their own lives and not obsessed with being a "Demira" and carrying on the whole stupid "vendetta".
I think the show could continue to improve if the writers stopped "reaching" for storylines and just let all the wonderful characters with complex histories interact with each other more. That way the show could be more "character driven" and the storylines would just go from there.

One of the many things wrong with this show (a show I was a proud fan of until recently) is that everything in Salem is Stefano's fault. He was cool villain back in the day, but now he is an annoying, completely nonthreatening old man who is perusing his dead Daddy;s vendetta (which we have never heard so much as a word about until last summer) with all the tenacity and single mindedness of a two year old. Time to find a better bad guy, Days. And how many times has this guy come back from the dead? The first time it happened it was a huge, surprising thing, but now he has died and come back so many times it isn't really even worth mentioning any more. The whole "phoenix" thing has been done to death, and now they're just beating a long dead horse.
The shows of the 80's and early 90's were great. Let's see, the show jumped the shark in a lot of ways:
-The never-ending "Who's the Daddy?" storylines
-Babies being born and then aged to teenagers overnight so that their parents are only a couple years older than them.
-Characters always coming back from the dead with little or no explanation. ( I mean, we saw Rolf get crushed, then blown to pieces, and then we saw his charred corpse and then he returns and when a character says "I thought you were dead" Rolf responds, "It didn't stick." Are the writers serious?

Where to start? First off, I hate that every character that dies on this show inevitably comes back alive before too long. Roman, Marlena, Stefano, Tony, Andre, the list goes on and on. It's hard to feel at all sad when a character dies when you know they will be back before long like nothing ever happened. They even brought John back from the dead in the most ridiculous way possible, then turned him into the most unlikeable character on the show. The only characters who seem to be really dead are poor Pop Shawn and Zach Brady, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they show up alive again sometime down the line as well.
I used to be a huge Days fan, but noe it has just gotten so bad that I have zero motivation to watch anymore.
