Well, while Dash X was never fully explained, the alien in charge of The Loyal Order Of Corn had exactly the same marks on his hands . . . Like the + and - on a battery.
I enjoyed this show and its delightful Fortean wackiness. Superior to some of the stuff that still continues.

If this show "jumped the shark from day one", as some people claim, it was do to its being put against the ratings powerhouse Sixty Minutes.
If it had been given a better time slot it would have shined.
Nickelodeon's "Pete and Pete" was so similar to Eerie, Indiana, theme-wise, it was incredible!!!

"...a viewer may not notice the first time through such as Death walking through the cemetery in the episode "Heart on a Chain", which, in my opinion was the best episode."
My daughter and I just watched that again. What a stunning episode! We think, since the grim reaper was walking in the direction of the girl, that the directors are suggesting that the girl dies - which is why the statue cries at the end.

I bet if someone was able to find lookalike actors for Simon & Marshall like they do SO often in hollywood I bet this show could pick up where it was left off.
But I guess Fox doesn't care about this sacred gem as much as we do to spend the money on Eerie, No matter how good it is. I bet if Disney took it over they would never let it die, just Like Timon & Pumbaa, Little Mermaid, etc. Of course Disney might water it down to make it "kid friendly" , but it might still be good anyway. I don't know any other 12 year olds like me who might appreciate it, though
This was a good show.
The problem was it was put againt mega-show 60 Minutes.
Personally, I thought it would have been better on Saturday morning.
I've always looked upon it as the prequel to Nickedoleon's Pete and Pete.

This never jumped, not even when Dash X showed up. All the best shows die young (see "Jack & Bobby" and "Freaks and Geeks" for further evidence).
I got the entire Eerie, Indiana series (the first, superior one with Omri Katz - not the later FOX remake) on DVD for Christmas. A viewing of all the episodes reinforces the commonly-held opinion that this was a clever, witty and original show. The episodes "Reality Takes a Holiday" and "The Lost Hour" really stand out. However, I am sorry to state that the last episode, "Broken Record," shows a real suggestion of shark jumpage. It has an especially heavy-handed social message - this one about abusive fathers - that made everyone in my family groan while watching it.
Never jumped. What a fun, creepy, getting in the spirit of Halloween kind of show! This show reminds me being young in the fall waiting for 'strange' things to start happening. What happened to the people that put shows like this together?
Eerie was an awesome kids show that unfortunately due to whatever poor fate become NBC's lowest rating show for the '91-'92 season. Why? Well, it had a weak lead in, The Adventures Of Mark & Brian, that didn't do well in swaying people away from 60 Minutes and it was up against a more 'trendy' (Yet still entertaining...) series at the time on FOX called Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Despite the history, it was well written, it had great cast and really strong production values, it could have reached the popularity of Are You Afraid Of The Dark? if it hadn't been so expensive to make. However, from watching all nineteen episodes on the fancy DVD box set it's easy to say that this was a quality show that never jumped.
