Shark Bytes
Eli is a terrific show with and original idea. The world needs a little uplifting tv nowadays and a lot less reality.
Jumped hard with the gay chimp episode. Initially a fun premise, good acting, good moral message and eye candy. Get rid of that cow secretary. Do these writers actually think we would beleive some rude insulting bitch like her would not be fired ASAFP?
Wonderful show, one of the best on TV--not even close to jumping the shark with its original premise.
Seems the only people that really complain about the show are extreme right-wing types who try to politicize everything and can't just enjoy entertainment for what it is. They have to see an agenda in everything and get mad if the agenda doesn't fall into their beliefs. Whatever, your loss.

Second episode for me. Bad writing and the soapboxing makes Boston Legal look subtle. That and the fact it's a lazy, less interesting version of Ally McBeal with an even more annoying singer (if possible) being shoved down your throat every couple of episodes. Had potential. Lost it pretty quickly.
Watched the first few episodes. The obnoxious political lies and biasness are too aggravating. Hey lefty loon dogs, one less viewer here. Hope it's worth your snide while yet false comments.
Great premise, pretty good execution but getting awfully close to jumping over zee shark.
For starters: the sassy assistant. This has been done to death before and she's a walking cliche. If she tones down her sass then there's still hope for the character.
The ditzy assistant: really? We had to sink down to this? Totally unnecessary and adds nothing to the story.
The new black lawyer with a 'tude + the cocky white lawyer make an odd couple. This cliche is so tired and worn out that it begs its own hackneyed description.
I couldn't care less about the ancillary characters and I would much rather learn more about Eli, his hot ex-fiance, his surfer accupuncturist and his boss. That's where the show should focus.

Great concept, writing a little off. Come on guys, you have to love a show where each episode is titled after a George Michael song.
Even with the political bias, it's difficult to watch as, week after week, Eli walks into his visions, and inevitably walks into a ridiculous situation (a cake, traffic, his boss) in real life.
I did note however in this past episode where he went to Hawaii, that after one of his visions, they didn't show what he was actually doing in real life. Perhaps even the writers have caught on that someone as supposedly smart as a lawyer, would STOP WALKING around when he had a vision.
The introduction of the ditzy new tag-along lawyer also reduced the intelligence of the show; but then, she does play the part of his moral concience.
All in all, I'll be taking it off my "Season Pass."

I had hope at first because a couple of the guys from Six Feet Under were involved, but alas that hope was quickly dashed. The first episode was okay, but then it got too "quirky" to be sustainable, and by the third week completely unwatchable.
Stopped watching it last week for the same reason.....damn it, why can't Hollywood writers entertain us rather than (attempt to) propagandize us? I stopped watching Boston Public completely for the same reason. Thanks for ruining a good concept for a television show with political biases, ABC....can you really afford to lose the few viewers of Eli Stone that you have? You lost me.
I thought it was a good show up until last week, when the writers started sneaking in their personal political beliefs. Last week’s episode was about illegal immigration, with a jab at the Bush administration. This week’s episode was anti war, The kid reading the paper with a headline about soldiers deaths, the line about a war with no end, & another jab at the republicans. Do the writers think they are changing people’s minds? it jumped, I’m not the only one who caught this. It wont last much longer.
