I would marry the guy that could replace my fangface lp. I loved that show and never missed it.
I LOVED THIS SHOW!!!!!!! I have a whole video tape's worth, and STILL drag it out and watch it from tie to tie :). It never really jumped, but I have to admit that it came close when they introduced Fangs' (Sherman) cousin "Baby Fangs".
They added a werewolf Scrappy Doo named Fangpuss. Yes, the name was Fangpuss. Faceface could have been a lot better. This Filmways cartoon followed the old Hanna Barbara practice of ripping off a past comedian, namely Huntz Hall and Leo Gorcey from the Bowery Boys. But they really did nothing with this concept because they changed the Huntz Hall ripoff into Fangface as quickly as possible. Needless to say, adding the baby/kid version of the star (a big thing at the time) definitely made it worse.
Hey! When I was a kid my brother and I had a "Fangface" board game! I totally forgot about it until I saw this. I think our grandmother got it for us at a yard sale or something. Neither one of us ever saw the TV show, but we still enjoyed the game.
Fangface! Now this was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid! Yeah, it was kind of a Scooby-Doo rip-off and like Scooby-Doo it JTS when they adopted a little werewolf as a sidekick to Fangface. But the earlier episodes of the show still ruled. "Ooh . . . ooh ... Pugsley! It's the mooooooooooooooon . . . arooooooooooooooh!"
He could look at a picture of the moon to change. Just a bad show.
This was a Filmways cartoon, not Hanna-Barbaric.
This classic obscure 1978-79 Hanna Barbara cartoon classic was perfect with the premise of 3 teenage kids (one of which turns into the comedic werewolf Fangface) that solve mysteries. The villains were realistic and the story lines were not overly simplistic. The only problem was that is was obviously a Scooby Doo, Jabberjaw, etc. mystery solving ripoff. It's too bad it doesn't get the respect its' do. You can view this classic cartoon sometimes during the a.m. hours on cartoon network.
