Never Jumped
Death (Zhaan)
The fourth season
Scorpius
The second season
Shark Bytes
Third season this series jumped the shark after the death of Zhan. This began the cycle of trying to to replace the character with a "scientist" and "mystic" with each being more tedious then the last. This is also the point in the series where it became obvious that the writers had no plot ideas beyond the first season. Although the second season episodes' plots more or less were from the first season by the time it came to rehashing them for a third (then a fourth) they became more then a bit predictable and dull. The Scorpius character was more interesting when he wasn't so much a part of the weekly plot and the whole neural clone thing was milked to the Nth degree... and then brought back. Once Scorpius joined the crew on Moya, well I can see why this show was cancelled. Those episodes credited with being "creative" are the worst of the lot.
This is a series that had a great premise and started out delivering week after week but unfortunately do to either a limited storyline -- or perhaps budget -- it became the same stories being told over and over again. Also as the series progress the aliens become very one dimensional characters and the Crichton character who then became the focus was the least interesting one on the show.

Farscape never really jumped. I'm not saying there weren't episodes or features that could have been done with out, but honestly, even the bad stuff was kind of the good stuff. I would get board with a glossy show that never took risks or shocked me with what came next. This was the first sci-fi show that made me feel like I was looking at aliens, that I was watching something really alien and yet I was invited in through John's character.
Farscape played by it's own rules, love um or hate them, they stuck to that the entire thing. I especially respect Scorpius being on Moya for awhile. He never "went good" because if you are paying attention, he was never the "bad guy" to start with. Ruthless yes, dangerous and cold yes, but he thought he was doing the right thing. That's an antagonist, not a villain. He made it clear from day one what his goals were, and being "mean" wasn't a goal, it was a by-product.
You don't have to like the show, but anyone who says "it wasn't good" wasn't paying attention. If you complain about the animatronic puppets then you REALLY missed the point.

Never jumped. Absolutely fantastic show. Made a very good and powerful exit with PKW mini series ( althrough it was hasty but that is the fault of sci-fi channel itself ) I hope it stays that way. I don't want it to be ruined like other sci-fi franchises like Star Trek , Star Wars , Stargate and every other stupid big studio backed show..
Absolutely never jumped! A few non-Bannion (sp?) written ones were goofy (the cartoon...) but the story was riveting. Scorpius' rebirth was incredible production. What can I say? Dang!
What an incredible show! One of my two all-time favorites, along with (yes) STNG. I'm just rewatching both series on DVD. It was cancelled because it was too expensive, at a time when the Sci-Fi channel decided that "sci-fi" wasn't really its mission after all (and brought us such drek as John Edward (not to be confused with John Edwards — oh, never mind). I didn't watch "The Peacekeeper Wars" when it was originally shown, and I bought the DVD as soon as it came out, but I still haven't watched it, because once I do, Farscape really is over. (I'll watch it before I die, though.)
What a great show - I miss it and agree with much of what has been posted. The writing was for the most part compelling, the acting was solid and characters and plotlines were enjoyable. It was nice to get closure with the mini series, but heck, I didn't want closure. I wanted another season.
for those who want to know Farscape isn't dead not by along shot. From what i hear its suppose to come back. soon
I loved FarScape!!!!! Was very, very disappointed when SCI-FI ended the show: Sure would like to hear the reason: If anybody knows, please enlighten me!!!
Loved the show's entire concept! Loved Rigel (muppet & all); D'Argo . . . Creighton, of course; respected Erin Soon (sp) as a PeaceKeeper; loved Pilot's devotion to Moya & hurt when he gave the history of his being joined with her: And Chiana: Space Age Cyndi Lauper, huh? I mean, what the flip?
Sorry to see the show end; just can't get into seeing "Erin & Creighton" in that other . . . show. Whatever it is. Don't watch it.
Enlighten me! Thanks!!

Never jumped. In fact it was one of the most creative and best written sci-fi shows of all time. No perfect heroes , no Trek idealism. Fewer RESET buuttons as episodes goes on. But it is not too dark and hopeless like nuBSG. Humour of Farscape was excellent. Drama was heartbreaking. Main characters are just survivors in this weird ( but beautifully created ) universe who are trying to save themselves but their development and interaction grew to a point you actually care about them. They became real for you. This is the peak of writing in sci-fi productions
Note : That's why main actors BB and CB couldn't hold Star Trek cousin Stargate. You can get same actors but not writing talent and creativity.

Love all of Farscape. Ben was wonderful and I also liked Claudia Black. To bad SG1 is gone now too. I liked seeing them again.
I didn't like the show, they pushed the tension between the characters a little too far for a little too long, trying to make it the 'anti-Star Trek' or whatever.
Plot all but stolen from Buck Rogers, with a little Flash Gordon. There were some interesting designs, worlds, and characters throughout, no doubt, and some beautiful alien women like Zan, but it was painful to sit there while a bunch of muppets and humans yelled each other most of the time. I liked Ben a lot more on Stargate SG-1, too bad Claudia had to go with him.
I can't say it jumped the shark, it was never very good to begin with.

This was one of the most confusing shows I've ever attempted to watch. I wanted to like it (I liked John and his big alien friend) but I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on most of the time (and that white haired girl? her voice was too annoying for words.) I don't miss it.
Our cable system demanded extra payment to receive SciFi and I paid it simply for Farscape. Other than this one program, SciFi Channel should be renamed the "cheap exploitive horror movie of the week" Channel. Horror movies are NOT SciFi. Having a cheap cast of teenagers running around screaming as the big bad bloodlusting monster chases them makes PLAN 9 FROM OUTERSPACE seem like a Class A masterpiece. I do think Farscape began to jump the shark with the last season. At times I really could not tell what was going on! And that old hag! My God, whose idea was she!! She was usually coming up with salt-peter potions to douse Creighton's memories of his lost love, or else making a mess of things, or whispering inane fortune cookie drivel in peoples' ears. Awful character! Creighton was always wonderful eye candy and the camera knew it - lots of close-ups of that handsome face and blue eyes (OK, I am gay, so I appreciate a handsome man). But the story lines were becoming so obtuse and extract that they were no longer fun anymore for me.
Show never never jumped. I bought all dvd's after it was cancelled and am waiting to get the mini-series. Sci-fi isn't usually something I go for...I was never and will never be a star trek fan but this show intrigued me from the start. Cancelled way to soon but at least I had it for the few seasons that it was aired.
