and vivian wasnt bitter, she was pregnant in one season so she agreed first with the producers to do a specific number of episodes then the producers wanted to change the contract, she couldnt they fought

Oh and what happened to the first Vivian? I was watching a special on Fresh Prince (don't ask me why), and it basically said she was really moody on set, had a bunch of clashes with the cast (especially Will), and the producers did a classic "phasing out" where she was dropped from a bunch of the scenes, basically encouraging her to quit without breaking contract. She got peeved and left. Bitterly.

Why does anyone even care that they replaced Vivian? She was the most pointless character on the show and it would have made no difference if she had been replaced yet again or died. They should have turned her into one of those "imaginary" characters you never see. Like Maris on Frasier. Then she might have actually been funny.

Vivian #1 was bitter in real life too; I thought she was just good at being a grumpy actress but as someone mentioned earlier on, she had some issues & was jealous of Will's natural charisma. Kinda beeeotchy if you ask me. annoyingly mean.

Oh and Nicky? POINTLESS!!! why do they have the need to replace young kids on shows all the time whhhhy? they make them repulsingly cute. gag me.

still loved the show though - despite the jumpy-ness. And I really liked Lisa! I don't see why people are dogging on her/

Loved the show but I have a few complaints. That little twirp Nicky ruined the show and the second Vivian was horrible imo. She had NO sense of humour and couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. The show was still pretty good when Vivian two showed up, but I think that's when the show jumped.

I'm sorry, but I really think Carlton was gay. There's nothing wrong with being gay, I just had a hard time believing he was straight, why did they try to make us believe he wasn't (gay) when it's obvious to everyone he was. The dancing, always singing, loves Barry Manilow...come one people, it's all here

The only character I couldn't stand was Hillary, I really wanted to slap her she was so annoying with her stupid valley girl accent....Daddy, I need three hundred dollars.

I liked when the Jeffersons made an appearance, that was funny. A good show but the change in Vivians was when the show jumped.

Since he was a guest star on this show once, I feel the need to say this:

When The little kid Nicky went from being a toddler to a 5 year old child, it was mentioned in one of the episodes, although I do not recall the episode, but Jazz asked who the child was and Will said it was Nicky, then he looked at the camera and did Hand Jesters showing that Nicky had a Really big Leap (Growth Spurt) it was kinda dumb but you have to admit that the show wouldnt be any better with a little baby.

I am so sick of seeing this show!!! It is on N@N, the N, and now abcfamily!!!
It's been on like 5 netwroks in like 5 years!!! UPN20, N@N, the N, TBS and ABCFamily!!! It's time to retire this show from syndication for a few years!!! Even up in Canada it's being played alot!!! I have known alot of shows to be played over and over again, but this has to be the one played the most by far!!! And it's also annoying seeing it since it had only a 6 year run!!!

I def didn't like the new Viv, Nicky didn't bother me, but I really couldn't stand Viv#2. My absolute fav eps are when Uncle Phil was mad at Will and Carlton and he would laugh and get them to laugh like they aren't getting in trouble and then all of a sudden Phil just BURTS out into a yelling fit, it's hilariuos. I also agree with another person who said that the earthquake one was one of the best. It's hilarious! The part where he sees his old Teddy and says, "Jam!". LOL!

I've read a lot of comments about people thinking this show is stupid or unrealistic. Of course it's unrealistic, it's tv. But then again, you can watch something really realistic and it be stupid. Sure, this may not be real life, but it is a nice escape for 30 min. And it makes me laugh. I didn't even start watching it on a regular basis until it was on Nick-at-Nite. I've found I'm that way with a lot of shows now. Shows that I really didn't like when they were originally airing I watch more now in reruns. Anyway, back to the point, FPOBA, good show, classic.

Why couldn't the original Vivian still play it? I'd like to know what happened to her.

If you notice, seasons 5 and 6 looked more like it was just the cast waiting for the show to get to its finale or get cancelled. There wasn't any fluidity, the plots were even remotely connected and everything from previous seasons just remained there.

Like others have said here, what about Lisa? Or her father (his new stepdad)? What about grandma? I have a feeling someone screwed up in the negotiating department and couldn't resign any of them back. Therefore, the shark bit.

The New Vivian Bugged me... it also irritated me how Nicky was portrayed by 2 different actors (excluding Baby Nicky). In the episode where the story of Nicky's Christening was told (with will and Boys II Men). And Sherman Hemsley...he plays some insane Judge, Dies then reappears like 2 or 3 more times as George Jefferson?

Does anyone else find it strange how Carlton ruins his interview for Princeton and then ends up going there anyway at the end of the series? It also bugs me a little how Will's fiance Lisa and her father are both portrayed by 2 different actors and actresses. I felt bad for Will and Lisa when their parents end up getting married, so they can't be married after all...
