I Collect Garfield & my favorite color is Orange,I'll admit the tv show was better than the movie & Lorenzo Music's voice fit a lot better than Bill Murray
or Frank Welker doing Garfield's voice
for Garfield Gets Real yet I read that
on occassion when Lorenzo Music was Ill
Dave Coulier the blonde dork who played Joey on full house did Garfield's voice
to me if Dave Coulier sound that much like Lorenzo Music's Garfield voice
which fit perfect
then why didn't they choose him or they might have thought of him & contact him he probably refuse the possibilities are endless
oh & for those of you who don't understand the point of the Us Acres
the Us Acres was another comic of Jim Davis

I have absolutely no gripe with Garfield and Friends, cartoon-wise, anyway. The latter theme song, sung by the rap person, left a lot to be desired, but the cartoons were funny. For years I have been a fan of the Garfield comic strip. I also equally like the US Acres, because of the antics of each of the farm animals. The only real problem I have, is that the US Acres comics didn't last long, and there isn't any place to find them.
For those of you who haven't kept in touch with the Garfield comics lately, you could say in a sense they "jumped the shark" in July 2006 when Jon Arbuckle and Liz started dating. This reason was to follow the same lines as the Garfield Movie of 2004. Even though we will never see the comic clips again where Jon picks up the phone and asks someone for a date wondering why they are turning him down, with Garfield already knowing why, I don't feel the comic has jumped the shark because I like the idea of Jon and Liz being together.

Garfield And Friends was one of those rare shows that actually got BETTER as it progressed. During the first season, it was basically a Heathcliff clone. Granted, there were a couple original episodes in The Binky Show and Monday Misery. But many of the plots, much like Heathcliff, involved Garfield wreaking havoc around the house and with his master. A couple plots (Good Cat, Bad Cat for example) were even borrowed from Heathcliff. Season 2 was where the show really took off IMO. The plots became more surreal and original, the writing wittier, and the US Acres segments less moralistic. From then on out, the series continuously improved upon the foundation laid by Season 2. And remained consistently funny throughout the early-90s. Even after that much maligned "techno/rap theme song" in the final season.
My favorite moment from this show was when Garfield dressed up in a giant mouse costume and said "I am the great superme mouse!" (or something similar to that)
Garfield is a classic. It never jumped the shark. It was funny every time you saw it, and it was VERY hard to stifle a giggle the show aired.
LONG LIVE THE FAT CAT!
LONG LIVE THE FAT CAT!
I always loved Garfield and Friends as it ushered in a great weekend full of college football and NFL action with outstanding humor, marvelous parodies and a denunciation of other networks who didn't cater their programming to kids on Saturday mornings (at that point in the credits where Garfield appeared in a box in the right-hand corner, he said "Kids, don't watch NBC, they don't show cartoons anymore! MAGNIFICENT!!! Anyway, unlike many who have previously posted, I thought U.S. Acres complimented the illustrious Garfield, Jon, Nermal cartoons tremendously, especially where Roy and Wade were the focuses of the plot in any given episode. Along with the Raccoons, this was the flagship cartoon of the '80's. I hope that Davis and his staff don't seek to replicate this show for after Music's death, no one on the earth's face can do justice to Garfield.
The show never JTS. The part with the rooster pig and all the barn animals was completly STUPID! But Garfield and friends was a classic. Somtimes I think they threw in the barn animals to make the show look better! It didnt need held though, Garfield was a HILARIOUS cat and his way of loking at life was VERY amuseing. Remember Did you know there is no Wyoming? haha funny stuff. Garfield was funny and will always be funny.
It was great until they started showing too much of that pig and chicken-who-never hatched. That was just boring.
The thing I loved most about garfield was that it was clean... sorry but characters blowing each other up and fighting never appealed to me. Lorenzo Music (may he rest in peace) was Garfield (if my husband would let me I wouldve let me I would have named a child Lorenzo lol) ... I wish he was still alive today to do the movies. I dont like Bill Murray doing the voice of Garfield it isnt the same. I remember watching it and still watch it today. It may not be like the short lived cartoons of the today but it is cute. I relate with garfield always needing to loose the weight. But you know he was still loved. My favorite saying was "Diet is the word DIE without a T" lol think about it.
