I am a big fan of spinelli, but I have a question. how can he go from being madly in love with lu lu, to sleeping with a crazy intern? plus i don't get how he's a virgin daytime, and a hordog primetime! it just doesn't make any sense!
I really hate Robin and Patrick breaking up. Why can't story lines exsist about good relationships. It would really help some of us think there might be a chance at a lasting relationsip.
Krisy, "Night Shift" is a parallel universe of sorts, so the plots are completely different from one another. Therefore, the two shows never overlap with their plots.
i love night shift but i didnt get how jason was in jail in the daytime and not in night shift and why are they turning Kelly into a slut? but other than that i love the show!
I have to agree!!!!!
This how would be at least a little interesting if the stories of the night would resemble the day. My first clue was the very first show when Jason was in prison (day) then running around the hospital saving people here & there at night. Whose bright idea was this anyway.I do like Billy Dee Williams character & how he brings out a more human side of Emphany though.... But the writers have done a really poor job over all with the differences. I give it a thumbs down!!!!!!
My reason is because not everyone has the channel where this can be seen and so we have no idea what is really going on with that show. Also the day show is not as interesting since they are putting so much time into the night show. I am loosing interest in the day show, and I have been a fan for many years.
I looked around for a spot to vote and couldn't find one. But, IF I needed a COIN a reason WHY General Hospital - Night Shift Jumped the Shark the first bounce out of the chute - it would be TOO MUCH - ALL JASON-SUPERHERO-ALL THE TIME! Unfortunately, the first episode of Night Shifts went pretty much the way I expected it would. After sitting through ONE hour of learning all about the clever tircks that Head Mob Hit Man Jason Morgan used to get away with murder on GH - then watching Super-Jase run around rescuing everyone and his brother on General Hospital proper -- I got to watch ANOTHER HOUR of Head Mob Hit Man Jason Morgan rescuing everyone and his brother on Night Shifts!

Sooooooo NOT impressed! Will NOT tune in for episode two.

Only a glutton for punishment would sit through TWO hours of straining credibility through improbable contortions so that Untouchable Head Mob Hit Man Jason Morgan can once again perform ANOTHER hour of superhuman feats of rescue!

At this point, I would LOVE seeing the Incredible Hulk or the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles actually put in an appearance. At least that would be SOMEONE DIFFERENT who was rushing around - rescuing everyone in sight!

I suspect that the spike in ratings came from fans of Patrick and Robin - who erroneously believed the show would actually be about the HOSPITAL and would include Patrick and Robin in a lot of the action! Mainly because all of the pre-show publicity by the network created that erroneous impression! NOW that it has become pretty clear that EVERY episode is ALWAYS going to be ALL about Mob Hit Man Jason Morgan - Super Hero - it remains to be seen how long the Robin and Patrick fans will continue to waste their time to tune in! Keep on truckin' - JTS is a great idea! But, as for me - GH-NS Jumped the Shark with the FIRST episode and seems to be determined to go from merely bad to truly awful in the shortest amount of time known to humankind! And leaping over tanks and tanks of sharks with every episode! Sincerely, Eleanor Hamilton
A thousand thank-you's to the person who said the inconsistencies between Night Shift & GH are distracting. You're so right! I've never seen something like this!

The Maxie thing is probably the worst one. We should cry because Maxie is near death's door on Night Shift even though she's healthy as a horse on GH and going about her business? What? Huh?

No other past or present tv show sitcoms nor sequels just blatantly disregard the original show like this. What exactly is the point of all these glaring inconsistencies. That's why I can't get into it. I could ignore minor ones but these are MONSTER inconsistencies that even Ray Charles would have trouble not seeing. Hence, Night Shift is a HUGE waste of time.
This show started out cool with characters like Toussaint Dubois, "A janitor with a mysterious past," played by the legendary Billy Dee Williams. I also like the fact that it has given many minority actors a chance to shine without playing stereotypical roles or making an issue of their race. The cast is diverse and the characters all have great chemistry with one another. However, after seeing episode 6, "Love's Labors," I am concerned that the series may soon be on the slippery slope leading to a full-blown shark jump. If they screw up the backstory regarding Billy Dee's character and have him turn out to be some sort of supernatural or devious character, the whole series is shot!
I know this show is supposed to stand on its own, seperate from General Hospital, but just a tiny bit of consistency would be nice. For those of us who watch both shows, the inconsistencies are distracting to say the least. During the day, Jason's in jail, at night he's a hospital janitor-At nite, Maxie's near death, and in the afternoon she's healthy as a horse! And really, all those doctors and nurses cannot be working day and nite shifts 7 days a week, every week! And what's up with turning Kelly into such a slutty mess? Other then that I kind of like the show!
