Some people are forced to watch certain TV shows. I for example am forced to watch Grey's Anatomy because it is one of my wife's favorite shows. So say i want to spend time with her but she is watching it, i'm not going to be a jerk and ask her to change it. So i sit and watch with her.
And the reason i hate Grey's Anatomy so much is because like Sex and the City, it is one of the shallowest shows i have ever seen. They try to be dramatic, but all they are doing is running out of people to have sleep together. And one episode her in the future, i'm sure Dr McDreamy will wake up next to George and it will all be mercifully over.

Pretty much the whole second season was one big long jump.....becoming most obvious with Code Black straight to the rancid heart wire storyline. There were a few good things to come out of that season, like Addison and Callie, but they got a little overzealous about Addion's appeal and shipped her off to an even worse show, and Callie's seemed a little wasted since then. Even her lesbian storyline is boring....despite being such a desperate attempt to spice things up. Firing Isiah was also definatley not in the best interest of the show, as he was one of the more tolerable characters.....and his exit was pretty lame. I only watch sporadically now, caught a couple of boring scenes with Meredith whining to a therapist this season, as if she doesn't spend enough time wallowing in her feelings and obsessively naval gazing, but they weren't enough to hook me for a whole episode. Maybe things will perk up.....Grey's can be good when it's not trying too hard with over the top medical situations or boring Meredith monolouges, but it seems to have lost it's sense of humor and balance.
PDlover: I agree, we should do more productive things with our time. However, this is STILL the Jump The Shark Website, where individuals continue to express their opinions, good OR bad...may I refer you to the many "fan sites?" Look: I TRIED to both watch and enjoy Gray's Anatomy (on the advice of quite a few people, unfortunately ALL drink too heavily), and I came to a conclusion that other posters already had: "It's Sex In The City ...in a hospital". "It's a big- budget soap opera". "Too much broom- closet shenanigans, not enough medical drama". "A WASTE of Sandra Oh's and Patrick Dempsey's talent". I rented the First Season DVD, and saw no good reason to watch it after that: I consider ER and even House to be miles better TV programming. Oh well, different strokes for different folks: (maybe I should watch it drunk-everybody I know who actually likes it is inebriated while watching it, so who knows?)...
If you don't like greys anatomy, just don't watch, do us all a favor. If you dont like the show why are you wasting your time complaining about it when I'm sure there are a million other things, other positive things you could be doing instead of whining about a show you don't like!
Everybody has certain shows they don't like. I don't like scrubs but you don't see me bad mouthing it. (unless you count that last sentence) Find something more constructive to do with your time, and grow up, stop acting like a child; whining about minuscule things!

I totally love Grey's Anatomy. It is the best show ever.
Callie is the coolest chick ever. I was so sad when Addison left. But the new girls, Lexie and Erica are excellent. Lexie is so sweet. I hope she and George get together. Grey's is the best.

This show blows, always has. Back in the day, I spoke with some nurses and hospital officials when visiting the er, and this is basically what they had to say.
"In terms of realism, both in the medical aspect, as well as professional and personal/emotional, I'd say that ER is closer than most to how life actually is here."
*someone asks about Grey's Anatomy*
"(*chuckles*) Grey's Anatomy is a joke, and even insulting to our profession. To expect anyone in such a stressful practice as trauma doctors and the like to be the neurotic, emotionally fragile characters portrayed on the show is preposterous. Someone with those qualities would not last a day in the hospital, much less the ER."
After hearing this, I was not the least bit shocked. I realize and concede that the characters need to have some depth, but to say that there are that many people in a single hospital who manage to keep their jobs is a joke. Don't gimme this garbage about 'everybody has social issues like they do.' Professional physicians and nurses keep their jobs and personal lives in check, people bleed and die around them every day and they must be rock solid to endure. In summary, Grey's Anatomy is pure fiction when it comes to real people. I would expect only small girls and perhaps the occasional gay man to find any enjoyment in this show. Jumped the shark when someone proposed the idea.

Ooh, it was a tough choice between Meredith's "death", and "Gizzie", but I have to vote for the former. That was one of the most hideous two-parters I have ever seen. It felt like a bad excuse to bring back dead characters. It did nothing for the show. Derek saved Meredith from death, and the bitch still ended up breaking his heart because...really big surprise....she's a broken soul!
Regardless, I still watch this show. Gizzie was wretched from the get-go. I loved Callie and George together, but lost respect for both George and Izzie when this happened.
Oh well, Callie's playing for the other team now. She doesn't need him.

Wow I am done with this show. I started watching the show in all honesty, because my fiancee made me. Lets be honest here when all a guy hears about a show is "Mcdreamy, Mcsteamy....etc." it will not make the show a must see. I did however quickly like the show due to the comedy aspect and the cool medical cases.
Then last nights finale happened. Ok first of all Grey says "I got a whole and fixed." Yea she got fixed in what... 4 episdoes? You have got to be fricken kidding me. You do not heal a twenty odd year problem in what a month in the shows time? Then we are suppose to believe that Alex a man who were are suppose to pity because he's, "DONE THIS BEFORE!"...and then he is the only one in the entire universe who didn't see her cutting herself with the way oversized tomatoe slicer coming. Then he tries to bang Izzy while his "love" just tried to kill herself. Psych patients everywhere should be insulted.
Oh and what a shock Derek and grey are back together, but is anyone else sensing that something will go "wrong" on his way to see Rose or maybe Rose will go Fatal Attraction on him.
Aw and look the writers suddenly decided the only way to pick up the dragging ratings of the show is to suddenly make one of the doctors a Lesbian! Though im sure this will lead to some very funny comments and "confidence dilemas" for George.
One bright spot of the whole thing is Lexie. She makes me laugh, shes cute and shes not a whiny/cruel person unlike every single other girl on this show. So naturally Lexie and George getting together as hinted at the end of the show could be the real story that saves this show. Just don't make Lexie turn out to be his cousin or something...please

Cathy, Rose is 100 times better looking than Grey. Plus the fact Grey is whiney and annoying. I know the show is about her, but if they'd get rid of her and Yang, the show would be much better.
Rose isn't the problem. Grey is. At least one of the problems. It's hard to like a show where you dislike the main character UNLESS that's what the show is about.

Two things had GA jump the shark:
1)Izzie's crazy behavior when she fell in love with Denny. That whole storyline made me uncomfortable. She breaks up with Alex for him (saying some pretty nasty things to him when she does), knows there's a good chance he may die anyway but stays in denial over it, cuts the cord to stop his heart... I more or less zoned out with this whole storyline. People supposedly found this romantic. I for one didn't. Izzie acted crazy and OOC, it was pretty tough to watch.
2)The stupid George/Izzie hook-up. It wouldn't have been so bad if they'd simply had a drunken one-night stand and regretted it. No, they had to have a drunken one-night stand and decide a few weeks later that it means they're in love. OH COME ON, how stupid do the writers think we are??? They screwed up one of the best friendships on the show. They have no romantic chemistry, it's all platonic. Here's hoping it's the end of this 'Gizzie' crap and they find a way to be friends again because romance doesn't suit them at all.

OK. I believe that GA jumped the shark when Rose the nurse entered Seattle Grace Hospital and took Derek away from Meredith. Heck, if I had the chance to throw my arms into the TV and strangle Rose I would do it in a heartbeat! Rose + Grey's Anatomy = jump the shark big time! This "shark" had a mighty fine feast!
Don't be stupid "okay". I know there are plenty of gays in the military. I am a CPA and have many gay clients that I like.
It's not about gay. It's about pushing our faces into that kiss. Again, 6 Feet Under had gays kiss. But this was an AGENDA kiss. To make a POINT. I watch for entertainment, not agendas.
The AGENDA show is the reason I no longer watch Boston Legal. I hope Grey's doesn't follow suit.

Actually Stalle, I am a black woman and I still didn’t understand.
She’d seen patients more vile than that stupid white supremacist. She didn’t have to pray to Jesus when she was trying to sew the rapist dick on (she’d seen his victim), or when she tried to convince a son to give his wife beating, drunk driver-killing father to give him some of his liver (she’d seen the victim and his family), or when a mass murderer was in their hospital (she’d seen some of the victims and one of them was her friend, Burke). Hell, she’s friends with the unsympathetic, heart-stealing Izzie Stephens. A swastika wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) faze her anymore than the above things.
Bottom-line the episodes were trite, catering to ‘special interests’, and worse of all the writers have seemed to forget what a rock Bailey was and how realistic this show one was. The old Bailey would not have paid it any attention or shrugged it off in my opinion. Your mileage may vary of course.
