Vote for why you think it jumped
Never Jumped
Every sketch involves being gay
Network switch (HBO to CBS)
The Movie
Day One
Shark Bytes
The final season was by far the weakest and it was clear the kids just wanted to wrap it up. However, there were some great moments there and the series finale was creative so I vote "Never Jumped."
I too was disapointed in the movie but being the show was over at the time of it's release, it doesn't qualify. Very funny scenes but not nearly as good as a KITH movie should have been.

Wow. Some people actually think switching from HBO to CBS made a difference? It was on CBC the whole time in Canada, which was its main channel technically speaking.
To whoever said it was "The Nirvana of Comedy" :
Nirvana was a terribly untalented band led by a signer/guitarist who could do neither.
Kids in the Hall was actually GOOD, unlike Nirvana. It is a terrible comparison.

KITH was an exceptionally creative and well-produced show. The move to CBS really did force the troupe to take the edge off their comedy, thought.
It's sad how poor the quality of TV has become, lately, particularly in comparison to the HBO KITH era.

This show jumped when it came on CBS.. I remember here in Orlando that they did not show it on Friday night , but late SUNDAY night instead....What the hell??????However, I must admit that I was never a big fan of this show, I always liked the sketches that involved the short guy as a heavy metal kid. That stuff was funny as hell....
Not only was KITH extremely funny, well-acted, and well-written, the main point of this show was that IT CRITICIZED PHONINESS, INSINCERITY, AND THE ESTABLISHMENT MERCILESSLY. They did it like no other show before or since and it was done in an extremely knowing, artful, almost elegant way that had emotional resonance. I’ve never seen any comedy show do that other than the Kids. That was the brilliance of it. Another poster on, I think, the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) called this show “the Nirvana of comedy”. It is revolutionary and says so much in its 30 minute episodes. Never jumped and will always be my favorite.
Brilliant sketch comedy. Never jumped but to me the Scott Thompson (doing Buddy) was too frequent toward the end. Otherwise too bizarre for most people my age but I loved it! Hard to believe Lorn Michaels had anything to do with the show!
The kids never jumped. However, in every season there were shows that were sort of hit and miss. I have always had a rough time sitting through the ultra gay sketches, but they still had some good jokes. The entire five seasons waere at least 85 percent hillarious. The rest was just tolerable.
This show was phenomenal in it's first two seasons, and the third season was ok, but the fourth and fifth seasons are really bad. So bad, I downloaded them off bittorrent, and I still want my money back. There's a complete lack of anything funny.
Never jumped. Ever. There's a *reason* why the reruns STILL air up to 3 times day. Makes the crap being offered to us these days look like.. even worse crap.
brilliant show... maybe the best sketch comedy show of all time. it is hard to choose between this and mr show.
I'd take this show over SNL, MadTV, The State, Monty Python, The Vacant Lot, or any other sketch comedy show out there. After watching the same cast/troupe for 5 years, you start to really appreciate all their writing, acting, characters, voices, facial expressions, timing, deliveries, etc.
I DO agree that they lost something in season 4. Their sketches were longer and filmed like little moves without a live studio audiance. It sort of took away from their, i dont know, energy.
