Miss the old Ruby, didn't like the new Ruby at first but after seeing how cute she is when she was scared of the angel made me change my mind and hope they show more of her but have to say this show even though I'm a big fan of and still am has been been taking baby steps towards a jump ever since s3 when though big brother Dean started getting all emotional about how scared he was it started to suck, liked his character better when he pretended to not give a crap and there are other reasons eg.wasn't as scary anymore but have to say the whole storyline about the angel saviour will jump if Dean doesn't get or have some kind of special ability/power from the angel or god.
Supernatural never jumped and season 4 looks like its going to be awesome!

Originally, I didn't like the whole 'God and angels' thing being introduced into the show, but after last week's episode, I'm totally pysched.

Can't wait for Thursday!
Jumped in the season 2 premiere. The first season was (a) scary, (b) deeply ingrained in American folklore, and (c) driven by a realistic relationship between two brothers. Starting in season 2, the mopey "I love you man" storylines every. damn. week. completely ruined a good thing. Their dialog is, almost uniformly, the dialog that 2 sisters would have these days.
For me the show jumped the shark when Bobby didn't kill Ruby, instead choosing to get in his car and go for a drive with her.

I suspect that means it really jumped when Dean didn't kill the bitch, or before that, when Sam didn't kill the bitch.

It could have been when Kripke & Co. introduced the new female roles at the TCAs. I knew season three would suck.

Now that I think about it, the show really jumped the shark in episode one of season two - introducing Jo, and then failing to take the hint. 3 seasons now they've tried to add female characters needlessly.

Kripke totally went of plan (if there ever was one) and the whole "yes virginia, there is a santa claus" thing they're doing with Dean and God? Ugh.

If I wanted a lecture on religion, I'd watch 100 Huntley or 700 club.
I love how some people's definition of "Jumped the shark" is "took a plot turn that I didn't 100% agree with"

You stupid bastards.

It never jumped the shark, because it never stopped being awesome. If you can't deal with shows going in directions you didn't predict, then stop watching television.
This show has NEVER jumped the shark. It is the BEST show on television!
i think that if they made it so that dean is offered an option to lead where sam welched on the deal would be pretty cool and maybe get a flash of how his bro is still searching for a way to save him so that he knows he wasn't just abandoned so that theres still a hope for sam to bring his brother back to who he was. but it would be kinda cool if sam was trying to stop dean from winning the heaven hell fight. I think if lillith can rival sam why can't his own brother. also i think that leaving Dean in hell sucks nard i am not happy with that ending at all and i refuse to accept it as the final ending. if they are ending the series they need to totally fix that, i mean come on Dean is hella cute and shouldn't be left in hell and i think ruby coming back wouldn't be so bad either. I am feeling very attached to both of those characters. It would be cool if sam killed lillith and made deans contract null and void and rubies too but that still brings up the issue of Deans body. Hmm maybe he could work something out to keep his original sexiness? or at least find a body equally as awesome to live in for awhile. honestly there is a lot of different ways to bring it back and i think that supernatural has a high enough fan base that they could keep it going for one more season, besides they were talking about armageddon i want to see what that looks like, the big war come on we have ben devoted to watching so they can at least throw us that bone. anyway enough of my opinion. have a good one guys.
This show jumped the shark when Dean sold his soul.
It'd be awesome if they went to hell and battled and stuff down there. It'd be like a recording of doom and thus, awesome..
I hope they bring Katie Cassidy back as a regular or this show is gonna turn completely gay besides Ruby is hot and males also watch this show and would like to see a lot of Ruby.Ruby kicks ass!!!
A good comeback would be were Dean's soul has gone a few earth days which would be like eternity in Hell and the COLT which Bela traded with the demons will be kept or safeguarded somewhere in hell and the time that Dean spends in Hell will allow him to develop some sort of powers(not necessarily bad powers as Ruby said that everybody who goes to hell comes back as something else,so not all demons and if Dean remains strong then he will not change to evil as Ruby didn't).While in Hell Dean learns that the Colt is in Hell and plans to get it and then uses it to open the gates of Hell through which he can escape.Regarding Dean's body:Sam's obsession to bring his brother back has failed on many attempts which leads to him using some sort of hoodoo magic to bring back or preserve Dean's body.NB: Sam should have no part in Dean's escape and should only learn of it after Dean has escaped through rumors or when Dean returns in person(or whatever form).
Season 3 was 'lame and lamerer '.Hope season 4 four is really hardcore and Dean gets a power or 2,seeing Dean weak more often than not is just lame.
Bwah ahha ahha ahha !!! Deans body was ripped up so badly,if he does come back to earth how is he going to use his original body?
This show need new producers and writers. it started out fine, but now it's wharped into 'tell don't show' and that is not TV . When Ackles got a bigger tole the entire show jumped the shark big time. The last 4 eps of him crying how scared he was about going to hell had me puke and I left.
It clearly showed that Kripke has no idea where he is going with this anylonger and is listeninto the squees fo fangirls wanting to see bad boy, pretty face Ackles and don't give a damn about an actual storyline.

Well, you got was thou wished for and now watch the rating drop. Kiss S5 goodbye while you're at it.

Way to go Kripke, you destroy a gem! This gould have been a cult-series if you stayed true to your initial storyline. .
This is a great show. Period. Very underrated, if you ask me... And definitely hasn't jumped yet.

The concept for this show fascinates me. A creepy, eerie, scary war between good and evil that's fought every day, and none of us even know it's going on. On our side - A handful of hunters... Real people with real flaws, completely outmatched and outnumbered. On their side - All the stuff we were afraid of as kids (ghosts, demons, vampires, werewolves, monsters, etc). And everything's tied together with urban legends, mythology, and religious undertones about hell and armageddon and the final battle... Fantastic.

I'm looking forward to season 4, because I'd like to see where it goes from here. Bela's character isn't returning, so I think we're getting what we want there. I really like the way they wrote her off, explaining everything in detail and getting some closure. I'm also interested in seeing how they bring Dean back from hell.

For this show to jump the shark, they'll have to kill off one of the brothers permanently... or do something really really stupid. Keeping Bela on any longer would've been a mistake. I like Ruby's character and hope she returns, and Bobby is great in a supporting role. Very underrated.
