The writing on this show was horrendous. I attended a taping at the Kaufman/Astoria Studios in Queens, NY, and it turned out to be one of the 2 out of 6 shows that was NEVER aired. Thank God for the "audience warm-up comedian", because the taping ran VERY long because of about an hour-long re-write of a scene that was falling FLAT. If it wasn't for that warm-up guy, the audience would have rioted! He deserved a medal for being able to keep a smile on our faces on an otherwise dreadful night. It's sad, too, because with the talent that this show had, it COULD have been something VERY decent (Kira Sedgwick, Beverly D'Angelo, and that girl from Mad TV). But, like I said. The writing blew.
You were Vampire Mona? Cool! That was the only episode I saw, and while I got some laughs out of it, I didn't see it lasting very long (I thought the same about that "Stark Raving Mad" show). I wouldn't call this show a "gem that didn't have the chance to shine", but it really did need a closer inspection before we pass judgment. Oh, well. That's the way the business goes, I suppose.
The took the most intelligent sitcom around, "Sports Night", off the air and replaced it with this moronic show. It got worse ratings, and was so bad that only four out of six taped episodes aired. Need I say more?
Well since only four shows aired I guess it would have to be 1, 2, 3 or 4! I actually guest starred as a Vampire on episode 4! Shooting the episode was the most fun I have ever had. Watching it on TV was, well...since I hope to get work again I better not say. But I would love to read other peoples' comments!
