Is this "War at Home" the show on USA about the two guys that try to kill each other or the lame sitcom on Fox? The USA show was great. The Fox show sucks.
This show was so original, I'll be damned if i ever understand why this was cancelled. This was like a live action Spy vs. Spy with the guys always doing crazy stuff back and forth. The guy who played the villian was really over the top and funny, i liked how he tried to make his hot wife seduce the good guy. This show probably couldn't go on too long and maintain its freshness. Seeing six years of this probably wouldn't have been pleasant, as the villain would still be finding ways to screw over the good guy. This had potential to be a sleeper hit with its perfect mix of action and comedy and USA wouldn't have to put all their eggs in the basket called Monk.
Sorry, USA Network "macho-man show" fans, you're not gonna like what I have to say, so read another post! In general, I have to go along with a review I once read about this show pretty much being like a "living cartoon" comedy with its premise that "everyone gets killed in the end, but by the next show it's back to business", no scratches, no dings. It's all in how you interpret it. To me what made my mind wander off and go in a whole other direction was the "Super Villain" Krieger. He's so downright "queeny" that to me he came across like the REAL reason he was always so obsessed with getting Kennedy's attention was that he "missed" his buddy-buddy. As in "mad, passionate crush" instead of "mad adversary"! Think about it! Kennedy gets married and moves on. Krieger marries some piece of boob-ulous fluff just so he can move in and be close by! He's always trying to be involved in his neighbor's life or kill Kennedy in the classic "If I can't have you NOBODY CAN" scorned ex-lover's vengefulness! Like the Glenn Close -"I will NOT BE IGNORED" fatal attraction! Look at some of the other signs too, like how pleased he was with himself in the episode where he put a camera on Kennedy in his (wife's) swim ballet class and in front of all his friends showed him bouncing around in the water! Or the "truth gas" sprayed out on a car dealer customer that revealed another "secret crush"! Yeah, I know, not what they intended so don't bother pointing out my "missing the point"! To me it would have been far more interesting done my way as so many other TV shows wouldn't dare take such a bold risk! Hear that, "Will & Grace"?
