If you go out to get the paper in the morning and look up and see Mike Seidel setting up on your street, GRAB YOUR FAMILY AND GET THE HELL OUT! I'm surrised that poor bugger is still alive. They have him strapped to a telephone pole in an evacuated city just about every time there is a hurricane, blizzard, flood, etc. God bless you weather dude.
I have posted before about how TWC JTS because of their move towards becoming a political advocacy machine rather than a weather news channel. In fact, the "Became too political" category here was initated by yours truly some time ago.

Apparently, the founder of the network agrees with me. From a 3/4/2008 article on businessandmediaDOTorg:

-----
The Weather Channel has lost its way, according to John Coleman, who founded the channel in 1982.

Coleman told an audience at the 2008 International Conference on Climate Change on March 3 in New York that he is highly critical of global warming alarmism.

"The Weather Channel had great promise, and that’s all gone now because they’ve made every mistake in the book on what they’ve done and how they’ve done it and it's very sad," Coleman said. "It's now for sale and there’s a new owner of The Weather Channel will be announced – several billion dollars having changed hands in the near future. Let's hope the new owners can recapture the vision and stop reporting the traffic, telling us what to think and start giving us useful weather information."

The Weather Channel has been an outlet for global warming alarmism. In December 2006, The Weather Channel’s Heidi Cullen argued on her blog that weathercasters who had doubts about human influence on global warming should be punished with decertification by the American Meteorological Society.

Says it all, as far as I am concerned. You'd think the dude was reading JTS. He covers almost all the major JTS beefs with TWC.
TWC JTSed with the debut of Dr. Anna Marie. What the heck! Since when is 'Marie' a last name. She's gotta be hidin' some ethnic name she thinks we won't remember. I don't know anybody with the last name of 'Marie. Please, Anna, give us your 'REAL' last name. Peace.
When it comes to the Weather Channel-local on the eights is most important to me-my job depends on the weather. Out of ALL the lifestyle reporters, I must admit the weather and your health segments make the most sense to me. Ever since my knee surgery, my aches and pains tell me when a storm is about to strike. Dr. Anna Marie does a great job tying together these segments. I'd trust her more than any other TV health reporter if I was having a heart attack. What Elizabeth Cohen from CNN...what health training does SHE have??
I know you guys are all hot for Stephanie Abrams and all, but sorry, she is sooo over-rated. I see Abrams and Bettes has been moved out of prime time so I guess not enough of you hot to trot guys are watching.

Shucks...
Storm Stories: I don't have a problem with it, especially now that it's aired in off-off peak and suspended during breaking weather (they heard you). GREAT.

Dr. Heidi Gore Cullen: I personally can't stand her and the "oh look, now TWC is young, hip and mod on climate change" politics but now she is no longer on (2/23/08) as host of Forcast Earth. GREAT.

Dish Network now has interactive forcasts availablle anytime and Locals on the 8's is irrelevant. Great.

AA Kevin Robinson's face time has been greatly reduced. Great.

Looks like TWC has jumped back. Now if they could only get my forcast remotely, moderately accurate it would be utopia!
TWC jumps every time we can't get the 'Local on the 8's,' and we're stuck with the national feed for those who've got satellite TV. What good does the national cities forecast do for us here in the Chicago area? I still prefer cable to satellite. Peace.
No, local on the 8's still exists. You get the "flashing regional maps" if it doesn't know where you are, say with a satellite provider.
Local on the 8's has been replaced with a useless flashing of regional maps.
Dang, I missed the Stephanie Abrams thing on 1/11 that Betty described. Please, TWC, have Steph, Heather, Alexandria and Nicole dressed like Victoria's Secret models more in the future.
I miss the pregnant weather girls
So I would have to say, since the pregnant hotties left
So the Weather Channel has to be all things to all people, I guess with their often pointless "tips" on health and fixing your toilet. Let's see, they do gardens, home fix-up, health, fitness, and (what's next?) I guess P. Allen Smith does have cred as a gardener, but Dr. Anna Marie is not somebody I'd go to if I had chest pains. Did you know her degree is in podiatry? That's right! She's a freakin' foot doctor offering advice on parts of the body that don't have toes. Too many low pressure systems, folks.
Sadly, Stephanie Abrams was dressed like a "Victoria's Secret" model on Friday Jan 11, 2008. Why???
How she dressed, was provocative, and no longer can our family watch that programming. Why would a weather anchor have to wear a plunging neckline with both breasts substantially showing from sideviews??
Can there be anything a family can watch safely, without the breasts or some other body part showing itself off? Get real! We don't need a boob show on The Weather Channel.
Kevin Robinson, definitely. Affirmitive Action at its worst.
