hey, fans!
i live in argentina, and guess what?
the show made it to here!
yes, though it seems nobody rememebers it but me. it was everything back in the day: funny, well paced, storydriven... i guess it was a "one in a million show".
i couldnt imagine my childhood without the Night Of Terror episode: funny as hell, smart, self mocking...
i hope someday i could grab those episodes in any format...
Somebody told me about this website just recently, and I thought that I was the only one who remembered some of these shows....Wizards and Warriors being one of them. I was a kid so I don't remember any of the plot but I remember that it looked cool and made me laugh. I don't think it jumped the shark because it was supposed to be a bit warped anyway. I'm gonna join the swarm for a dvd set
I'm in the same camp as everyone else here. "I'm not the only one?"

I would love to send email, regular mail, or otherwise to assist an effort to get this pushed to DVD. If we don't, no one will.
Here's scoop on why they're in no great hurry to cough up legal versions of this little darling. CBS is not at the top of its game in revenues as compared to its competitors. That has alot to do with digging up archives of tv series and other, of which contracted companies are hired to reproduce remastered copies. Note the expolusion in box sets for sale when a series has hardly ended the 1st season eg: 24hr, LOST ect; The companies will select media files in storage through sections of the aphabet as directed by say CBS, with the mandate to prioritize those series or other that are in high demand and will a)offset the cost of reproduction and re-release and b)will generate revenue for said company. In some instances the legal boondoagel around royalties can set back release of some such series as "Wizards" and Warriors." Simply put the best push to release this asap is to swarm the network with a demand for the product. Yes I would so want to own this series myself, but CBS and other major networks approach this cliche with a couched "hurry up and wait" resolution.

What say you all to a swarming?
I can't believe the number of people that still remember WIZARDS & WARRIORS, because I thought I was the only one. All things considered, I hope that they release it to DVD because they have every TV series(regardless as to how popular/long they've been on the air) out there.
I wish I could get this on dvd ...money waiting for a marketer
The day I got my first VCR they played that last show. We plugged it in just as it was starting. I just can't seem to find the tape. A DVD collection would be great. It would hve been great to find it is the same slot twice.
This show completely dominated my tender middle-school psyche and my best friend's as well. We were obsessed. We made up additional characters -- relatives and friends of the show's characters -- and passed notes "written" by them and spoke in their voices. Talk about demented outcasts! When the show was cancelled, we went into mourning, tried to console ourselves with "Tales of the Gold Monkey"... then THAT got cancelled too! Sheesh. After all these years, I finally found terrible pirated copies of W & W on DVD. Yay! I still remember every line word for word. We used to "record" the episodes on cassette tape and just listen to them and laugh our asses off. W & W forever!
I had almost given up hope in trying to remember the name of this show. it could never had come at a better time, nor got cancelled at a worse time, then when i was of that age (8). Dungeons and dragons was already ruining my life, then this show comes on. My mother would threaten that i couldn't watch the show if the homework wasn't done yet. that's how damned important it was for me. I was sucked RIGHT IN. but if you want to know why it got cancelled... WHERE WERE THE MONSTERS??? That's why people watch that sort of show, and nothing happened. the dude talked to that hot blonde chick most of the time, then she would talk to someone else in armor, and that's that. no real monsters or wizardry or anything to speak about, at least that i can recall. of course, you know that actor in that show sold his soul to the devil. it was out of the producers hands. I think the pre-emptions of the show were due to the fact that the network just didn't want to admit that nothing was going on there. They'd pre-empt the show in lieu of actually having to show a monster, or a fireball or something. tv can be stupid like that.
A Get Smart sensibility in pseudo-medieval outfits. Plus Duncan Regehr. TV heaven for sure.
This series was so cool. Yet it disappeared without any warning. It was on one week and not on the next and then it just disappeared. CBS really disappointed me in this and trained my mind to not get into any show on there station since. I hope they come out with on cable or DVD release. This show coulda been bigger than Hercules and Zena together
Wizards and Warriors never had a chance to jump - but I don't think it would have in the long run, anyway. A smart, funny, 'aware' show! Duncan Regehr's Dirk Blackpool character provided my junior-high eyes with the gorgeous male factor, and the humor kept me coming back for more. Loved this show, sad to see it get kicked so soon... but then again, the good ones always do, and the crapola stays for eons. *sigh* Wish someone'd replay 'em!
I'm glad there are others who have fond memories of this show and are disappointed that it was cancelled after such a short time. Dirk Blackpool is still one of my favorite not-so-bad bad guys, and definitely the best-looking. I wonder if his father ever came out of his coma? Poor Dirk!
Few shows had the class this exhibited. Relevant dialogue, wonderful casting, great effects, this one had it all. Unfortunately CBS had no idea what they had and sluffed it. Since CBS stands for 'cliched boring sitcom', Wizards and Warriors never had a chance. It would be nice to see SciFi, Comedy Central, or someone else bring it back if only for a weekend special once a year or something.
I love this! I didn't think anyone else remembered this show! I wondered if I dreamed it. The show itself was great & the only reason it jumped was 'cause the network it was on (CBS I think) would always bump it off in favour of every stupid ball game, state of the union address, other movie, whatever. Good job guys; who needs good shows when we can fill the waves with nonsense like Jackass, the Osbournes, movies about Jesus. What a bring-down.
