Why is any show which is a cartoon aimed at adults automatically declared a Simpsons copy? CARTOONS WERE ORIGINALLY FOR ADULTS! Looney Tunes, The Flintstones...they were originally aimed at adults! People allowed their kids to watch since they were not objectionable, then cartoons after that were aimed at a new fanbase: kids. Capitol Critters was nothing like the Simpsons at all. By this same logic, the Simpsons is a Flintstones clone...after all, it's a primetime cartoon just like the modern stone age family, therefore, they copied them.

As for Capitol Critters, never jumped. It had the right amount of emotion and humor. I remember the part where the mice's friend was caught in a mousetrap, but they couldn't save him because of the cat, which killed him. Jammet (I think that was his name) wanted revenge against the cat, so he turned a gun into a cannon and prepared to accomplish his goal, but it didn't work.
Capitol Critters was far ahead of its time and aimed at a very small group of people.

I don't think the show's creators knew what audience to aim for, but it did get some well deserved attention from those who sat down and watched it.

I think the show would have received quite a bit more attention if it had been released as a movie as opposed to a series. Maybe a movie first and foremost, and then allow a series to follow instead of jumping the gun and pushing for a TV show right off the bat.

The show was very adult-oriented, but was in no way related to the Simpsons. I think the whole concept was a show for adults that resembled their childhood cartoons (like Tom and Jerry) and had similar antics, yet held a more mature air and a compelling story.

The problem was that while the stories of the episodes were definitely captivating, they were messy. The show was poorly constructed and wasn't able to convey a message very well at times. I think, overall, it wanted to teach young and old some values it wasn't able to do that in a discreet enough way, and instead was very upfront about it's subject matter.

It was very heartwarming and definitely realistic, but again, would have done MUCH better as individual movies as opposed to episodes.

I think, overall, Capitol Critters held some extreme promise but decided not to beat around the bush with the subject matter in the end and that inevetiably brought its downfall.

It was a ballsy move, and I respect it. Because of its blunt attitude about reality, the show is lovable and easy to feel for. The characters are complicated yet easy to relate with.

I am glad they made the series but I think 13 episodes is quite enough.
The Roach Episode.. it made absolutely no sense as to the point they were trying to make. It seemed like they were promoting tolerance then they made a big point that roaches shouldn't be near mice.
This show jumped when one of the mice got hooked on pep pills. You know a show's days are numbered when they have to resort to copying plots from Saved By The Bell.
the show was awesome. it wasn't on long enough to jump! i'm sure if it lasted, it would have eventually, but i loved the mouse with the curlers and bunny slippers. i wish they hadn't cancelled it.
This show was very underrated. At the time most people I knew didn't watch it because they assumed it was a kid's show. They obviously didn't see the humor in most of it, or it went over their heads. It's too bad no more cable networks are rerunning the show, most likely the episodes are sadly collecting dust in some TV studio back closet with all the other dead shows. I hope one day someone will realize this show's quality and at least get the episodes out on *****.
It jumped from the beginning! It was just another copy-off from the Simpsons, trying to be the Simpsons, but no one can ever beat the Simpsons!
This show was cute and fun to watch.
I liked Capitol Critters, and I may never know why. I can understand why everyone else hated it though. This show, I think, was probably ahead of its time. It was aimed at adults, yet it was a kid's show. At the same time, however, it was too adult for kids to enjoy. You might mention this alongside your slam of the show. Thanks for your time.
Another bad animated cartoon. Talking mice in the White House. Wow, how entertaining...
