It definitely jumped when Charlie Murphy and the other guy started hosting. That was funny for an episode or two.. but after that it got increasingly unfunny.

I recently watched a few episodes on DVD, and it made me remember how much I miss this show. I guess it's better that he went out on top.

come on folks, i'm white and not even particularly and i didn't think there was much white-bashing. i thought it was brilliant and even-handed. and surprisingly gentle about racial foibles. especially samuel jackson beer, time hatas and of course, rick james. jumped the shark when dave left and recanted the whole thing. in the end, the PC police did him in.

all i know is i LMFAO every time this show is on. Wayne Brady? Samuel L. Jackson beer? Jury Duty? how 'bout those VD Puppetts?

Funny show, really was not on long enough to jump, but there was one sketch that I found REALLY dumb. I saw a bit where Dave and a bunch of other black guys were annoyed by the sound of an electric guitar, trying to make the audience think that the electric guitar is a "White" thing.....

Does this guy realize that rock & roll and THE ELECTRIC GUITAR was pretty much INVENTED by blacks?????....I found the point of that sketch dumb, HOWEVER, the Wayne Brady sketch...FUNNY AS HELL!!!!

a lot of you white people need to calm down a little..it's all in good humor..he makes fun of black people all the time..it's all jokes..one of the funniest shows ever..Wayne Brady skit is my personal favorite..too hard to make a list though..black Bush LOL "oil? bitch you cookin'?"

I am white-bred (Irish, German, Eastern European) and this show was funny to me anyway. Not much on this offended my nationalities. The only sketch I did not like was the Real World parody. Chad was did belong in the apartment because he was a jealous, crabby, depressed businessman from Chicago (supposedly by the intelligent way he speaks). Do you think, Chad that the tenants would let you sleep and cut you some slack just because you have to go to your dead end job downtown? No. The Real World isn't for well educated, spoiled Midwesterners like Chad. Everything else was hilarious. Burnout? Probably but I enjoyed the ride. It's too bad it couldn't last longer.

I don't think the show was on long enough to jump the shark. However, it did jump off a cliff when Dave quit. I think Dave Chappele is funny but I get damn tired of his "I can be as racist, Un-PC, and offensive as I want because I'm black" thing. Also, he seems to genuinely disslike white people. He makes racial jokes and than wants white people to feel guilty for laughing??? Now that I think about it, who needs this guy?

This show blew from day one. I LOVE racist humor( yes, I'm HALF-JEWISH, and love racist humor)...but it was just constant white-bashing...that's ALL he ever did, and it wasn't funny at all. The ONE skit that would've been hilarious was the KKK skit, and Chappelle is SUCH a bad comedian, he couldn't even make THAT funny.

And then, he dashes to Africa, and we later find out- oh hey, what's this: he really DOES hate white people. Sorry, that TOTALLY nullifies his entire act.

So basically, his show was what would've been the end result if Michael Richards was black, and had gotten his own show.

The only reason white people think he's funny is due to the PC times, and "liberal white guilt". Otherwise, he'd have been thrown right out onto the street.

Oh yeah...and THEN he has the nerve to come up with that ridiculous movie Block Party with the message "Can't we all just get along?" Please- the man is a pathetic sack. He ranks up there in worst comedians ever- with Billy Crystal, and Garry Shandling. Yeah- he's THAT bad...

Yea, this show was offensive, yea, this show had a rascist humor vibe to it, and yea, it was the FUNNIEST show on television 4 years ago. Never jumped. It is a shame how this guy freaked out and could not keep this thing going, because the Wayne Brady episode was one of the funniest things that I had seen on TV in a LONG TIME...
