I saw this show a few rare times in re-run and bought the first season on DVD. Love show, the characters. The other great thing about these old shows are seeing all the guest stars who later made it big either as character actors or stars in their own right. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Clint walker worked as a bouncer at a nightclub when he got discovered. My wife likes the eye candy, too.
Loved Cheyenne. One of the best western tv shows made. Right up there with Gunsmoke, etc. Clint Walker was a great actor, portraying C.Brodie. He was so dang handsome, sexy, and built like a grizzly bear!! He also was a gentle, kind, concerning, and Tough Guy!! My kind of Man!!
CHEYENNE was one of the best Westerns. Clint Walker was a real ass-kicker, that's for sure. I went to high school with a cousin of Walker's who was a giant just like him. I think MAVERICK might have been the best of the Warner Bro. westerns, though.
This was one of the first "adult" westerns, along with "Gunsmoke" and "Wyatt Earp". Clint Walker was one of the great western stars, right up there with James Arness, Hugh O'Brien, Richard Boone, Steve McQueen, and Chuck Connors. Clint had an incredible physique and made an extremely imposing hero. Clint wasn't a product of the Actor's Studio but he was a natural and very appealing actor. He was also surprisingly good at comedy and romance. The episode where he sparred with Diane Brewster's cunning Samantha Crawford was charming. Warner Brothers must have had a great talent program to find so many interesting but untrained performers. Too bad Warners didn't treat these actors a little better when they became stars.
