This show was always good, but at the very end, when Chris and Yola got together (okay, "did it"), and specifically when they were at the winery resort place and he sang "Cool Love" to her in front of all of those people and she cried - at that very moment, it jumped. Fortunately that was the last episode.
This show was great for its first season. It had some fantastic writing, Chris is naturally a very funny guy, and yes indeed Yola = hot. However, the skis were on when the second rate guest stars started lining up to be on it. When Brian McKnight appeared it was the end for me. Could they have found anyone more boring? To see Chris and him dueting to some dull-ass MOR love song really killed me. After that it was just one nobody after the other. None of them seemed to have any affinity with Chris' music either, but that didn't stop them from destroying his songs live on stage. At about the same time as this, Anson started getting REALLY dumb, and each episode would have an "Anson learns a lesson" thread somewhere in it. In the end the writers just seemed to give up, the result of which was Chris and Yola 'doing it.'
If you like good music coupled with charming acting and an all-around nice guy, this show fits the bill. Even though his band members are not true actors, they can hold their own. Besides, this lends an air of credibility to the "realness" of the show. And Yola: HOT!
