I probably haven't seen this show since the late 70's or early 80's when a Mexican tv station would show reruns of it. I always made time to watch it, but then again, I was a little kid, so I'm not sure I'd have the same opinion of the show today.
When I realized that they use the same supporting actors (wearing the same costumes) in front of the same set pieces and location shots (look for the dirty lawyer's office again...and again...and again...)! Was the schedule and money THAT tight? You couldn't find ANOTHER desert in California? But, besides that, an AWESOME SHOW. "Oh, Ceeezco!"
No jumps. But I never saw a COLOR episode even when we eventually got a color tv. And on the east coast the sponsor was Tip Top Bread ! The program was on radio originally.
A forgotten favorite. Campy, funny, always enjoyable. Too bad we get endless repeats of newer drivel while this classic is ignored.
LOVED this show because Cisco & Pancho SHOT the bad guys. None of this shooting the gun out of the hand. All episodes shot in color. Nice mounts (DIABLO the pinto for Cisco and LOCO the palomino for Pancho. FYI: Duncan Renaldo (Cisco) was in his 50s when he did this series and Leo Carillo (Pancho) was in his 60s. Sponsored by BUTTERNUT BREAD, I believe. Great theme song and classic weekly close of "Oh, Pancho", "Oh, Cisco"
Never, ever, ever, ever, jumpped and, now that the stars ( Duncan Renaldo and Leo Carillo, the greatest saturday morning duo of all time ) have passed on to that great wild west in the sky, never will. You can view a full length episode ( RealPlayer format ) at the "Cowboy Pal" website. "http://www.cowboypal.com/cisco.html"
"He drank whiskey, Poncho drank the wine". To me, this show was a classic with Duncan Renaldo and Lee Carillo. Hey, Cisco, the sherreef he eees getting closer.
