OK, so on Happy Days, the Fonz had a New Yawk accent. So maybe he was born and raised in Brooklyn and somehow wound up in Milwaukee. Improbable, but possible.
Then the spin-off, Laverne and Shirley, features AN ENTIRE CAST who live in Wisconsin yet all speak Brooklynese. Even the guest stars like Rosie whatsername. What was the idea here? If you want to set your show in Brooklyn or Queens or wherever, do it. Don't call it Milwaukee like we're a bunch of idiots.
Then the other thing is this: even though the show is set in Wisconsin, there's no weather. Nobody ever has to put on a hat, coat, gloves (except in the opening credits). It never rains, never shows...you'd better believe it snows a LOT in Wisconsin in the winter. So what we have are a lot of New Yorkers living in a Wisconsin that is perpetually 72 degrees and bright and sunny, suspiciously like L.A.
Hmmm.

I REALLY HATED THAT FERRY CARMINE. DOESN'T THE NAME SPEAK FOR ITS SELF. HE REALLY THOUGHT AMERICA WANTED TO SEE THAT WEST SIDE STORY ROUTINE EVERY TIME THEY HAD A TALENT SHOW. NOW LENNY AND THE SQUIGTONES THERE'S AN ACT "THIS SONG IS CALLED NIGHT AFTER NIGHT. ITS ABOUT TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW" CLASSIC.
I really liked this show as a kid. For me, the jump point was when it went to LA. I forget the reason the two girls went out there. Maybe the beer factory closed or something. But why did everyone else move out there? They only got jobs at a dept store. They could have done that in Wisconsin.
Once Shirley left, it made no sense at all to keep it running. That was half the comedy team.
The guys who played Lenny and Squiggy were great. Surprised they did not do more after the show. Maybe they did and I missed their work.
Penny Marshall was there because of Nepotism. Wasn't her accent Brooklynish? Her father had an Italian accent. She seemed misplaced in Wisconsin.

I thought Williams left because they were using her pregnancy as an exscuse to get her out of episodes more often. And I heard she sued Paramount and later settled out of court. Or something like that. And I like how in the final theme we see the kids imitating the "Incorporated!" line without even realizing Laverne is there. Ofcourse where did they get that from??? Did they see L&S doing it and they wanted to try it??? Ofcourse they just needed something to replace Shirley. And did something happen to Lenny? He wasn't in the final credits! It was just Dave Lander! I believe Lander was Squiggy. Correct me if i'm wrong. The last season was a real bust! Why didn't they just conclude it with Shirley leaving?!
Boy, I don't remember any of that happening. It must have happened after I stopped watching Laverne & Shirley.
Simply stated, L&S jumped when their living arrangement became sapphic. Watching LaVerne part Cindy Williams sweet pink lips and jab at her vag was actaully kindof erotic. Then when she turned her over and began tonguing her brownish/pink starfish, I came. That is when it jumped, IMHO.

The humor on this show was juvenile. I remember thinking so before I even hit puberty.
I couldn't bring myself to believe that a "live studio audience" full of adults was actually laughing out loud like that?!
Cindy Williams was good in American Graffiti.
Penny Marshall was good on The Odd Couple.
But this show? Peeeuw!

The cast members were all better writers and producers than Garry Marshall's writers and producers. Look at the work they did before and after L&S. Garry Marshall was too rigid and repetitive.
I thought the show was good in my opinion (but don't everyone jump me because we all have different likes and dislikes). I heard that Cindy Williams left the show because they were going to make her work the week she was suppose to deliver. And I'm pretty sure Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams were straight- I don't think it should have been called Laverne Loves Shirley!- But it's just my opinion- so don't everyone try to start an "internet fight".
I TAKE IT BACK LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY WERE DYKE"S IT JUMPED THE SHARK WHEN THE FIRST EPOSODE AIRED PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT
