OK seems like ABC has decided to lower the AX on MIT and my reaction when I found this out? I cheered, and this is from someone who actually liked this show during the first season, but then there was the amneisia crap, agree with others who said this was way cliched, and without his relationship with
Annie which made him sweet and romantic, Patrick really was annoying and boring. Why couldn't Patrick and Annie have gotten married then dealt with In-laws, and maybe pregnancy instead of the stupid crap that MIT resorted to in order to keep them apart, big mistake they are boring apart. One of the reasons I started watching this show was the Jack and Maron relationship, the characters had chemistry off the charts, then they were put together way too quickly in my opinion would rather have seen more build up and flirtation, then there was the whole Lynn crap which fizzled out quickly so we ended up with the Cash crap, now don't get me wrong I had nothing personal against Cash, he was an interesting character, but as a foil to Jack and Maron, as a potential love interest for Maron, forget it, there two had the chemistry equivalent of a brother and sister, but unfortunately this seem to be the way the writers were going with the thing, along with Annie wanting some stupid hockey player (that she had zero chemistry with) over Patrick whom we had been led to believe was the love of her life. Needless to say with all this stupidity I wasn't sorry to see MIT leave, it was the same show any longer. Yes, ABC did it in by moving it every five minutes but given the state of where this show was going they might have did me a favor in doing so after all its a pretty sad state of affairs when the most stable and romantic couple on this show were Jane and Plowman.

Get rid of Mai, I can't stand to hear that bitch talk, she absolutely is worthless, and does not help the show one bit, I hate her
The show has definitely jumped the shark with this past week's episode - having a set of little people for parents - it makes me sick to see people who have something unsual about their bodies used for comic effect. I'm sorry, but I can't watch it anymore. It's lost its way. I used to love it, but now, ewwww
This show has JTS through no fault of its own. ABC has been trying to feed it to the shark since it first debuted. The show is quirky and fun, with a great cast and some interesting story lines (although I agree with earlier posters that Patrick's amnesia is lame and his character is soooooooo boring), but the constant time slot changes and hiatuses make it impossible for it to develop a following. When will the networks learn to leave shows alone and let them find their audience before deciding if they are successes or failures (and yes, I mean you, too, FOX and your treatment of "Bones"). Maybe if ABC leaves the show alone through the end of the season, it will be successful on Wednesday nights. Lord knows the competition isn't much in that time slot.
GAAAAACK!
I did not think it would be possible to make a dumber "Alaska" show than "Northern Exposure," but they have certainly succeeded.
The only thing that saves this piece of dreck is that some of the women cast members are interesting to look at. (In particular the bar owner's wife.)

With the 11/16 episode, Men In Trees tried very hard to jump the shark. It didn't quite make it, and the shark dined well that night. I cancelled my TiVo season pass.
This show would seem to have potential beyond what it has shown so far. Part of the poor ratings can be attributed to the following
1) constant shuffling of the schedule,
2) but mostly because it has put the focus of the wrong characters. By wrong, I mean the momma's boy who suffered amnesia at the wedding. Even before that they put the focus on him, to my mind, the most boring character on the show.
3) They started up too many relationships early on at the expense of letting us get to know the Elmo area and the characters as individuals.
4)Once they do start up a relationship, they do everything they can to break it up. Watching couples break up is not a formula for success.
5) Let Cash and the Constable and the John Amos character a bit more active. Get away from the old boozer in the bar.
6)Let Marin get used to the wild

Amnesia!!!C'mon, one and a half year's into this show and the writer's are already using the lamest and oldest plot gimmick in the book.
There should be a JTS category for amnesia write after "hair care" and "different actor same character"
I like this show, especially its oddball supporting cast, its one of the few chick show's my wife watches that does not turn my stomach (I'm looking at you Grey's Anatomy and Brothers and Sisters), but it annoys me the way the whole plot is basically about inconvenient and dubious delays of the inevitable. (e.g. Jack and marin do not hook up because Lynne shows up out of the blue pregant, jack gets a job on the Bering Sea, Patrick hit by lightning at the alter.

Patrick struck by lightning and gets amnesia. Jerome sobers up and shaves. Jack goes away. The Chieftan gets padlocked. The writers get lost and the show jumps.
Ok, the 11/16 episode jumped. Come on, Patrick gets struck by lighting during his wedding that is supposedly cursed, and then as the preacher prays for him he comes out of a coma to find out he has amnesia! This has every cliche in the book. It jumped. Now, can it redeem itself at all?
I'm sorry to say but the November 7 episode jumped the shark. The jump was Annie's eyebrow. I really can't understand ripping your whole eyebrow out by waxing. C'mon...you would have to apply wax to the complete eyebrow. But to pencil in an eyebrow so differently arched than her natural eyebrow??? Was she drunk?
I liked the show a lot until they decided to have what's-her-name arrive pregnant and to have Jack overtrhrow all his feelings for Marin in order to marry someone he doesn't care for. All this soapopera crap, just to make the story go in a new direction. The show lost its way at that point and has not found its way back. A shame.
