Please put a DVD of Relativity from 1996 out. It is now time to see it again, what a cute show - a heart warmer
This show never jumped. ABC killed it on Saturday nights, just like they killed LIfe Goes On on Sunday nights opposite 60 minutes. At least LIfe Goes On got 4 seasons. The acting on this show was incredible, especially Adam Goldberg. If this show had been on a better night and given a better chance it could have been huge and Adam Goldberg would be a bigger star today. It is such a shame. Hope that it is on DVD someday. I would love to see it again, some of the episodes I really remember and it was on the air a long time ago!
Yes, I too would like to see this series on dvd, it was one of the best shows I have ever seen that was not given a chance to become a hit. I think seeing this on dvd would re-introduce these characters to many people
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I really want Relativity on DVD. I would buy it immediately when it comes out. I have some other friends who would buy it too. I keep waiting for it. It's my favorite tv program.
Please!! We want Relativity on DVD!!!
I love this show. It's great. I finally have a name for it! A FLUME!!

PLEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSEEEEEEE...release it on DVD ABC!!!! And thirtysomething would be nice while you are at it!!!
Relativity didn't jump the shark. It was one of the most interesting shows ever done, with excellent writing and acting, but with an idiot network.
I loved this show. I am reminded of how obsessed I was every time I see Kimberly Williams on screen. The show had great characters with a story line that was one of the first, that I can remember, that kept me glued to the TV.
This show never jumped. I watch a lot of tv (I'm not saying I'm proud of that, it's just a fact) and this is one of the few shows that I really felt invested in. I LOVED this show. Interesting, likeable characters--you could respect them, they had very distinct, well-developed personalities, definitely weren't perfect but they were sympathetic and you still liked them even when they did stupid things. I loved the realistic family interaction. And as someone pointed out above, the characters were interesting without being tv-typical "quirky." It's really a travesty when I see the crap that's on and that I admittedly watch and this show didnt' make it. This was truly a great show that was completely neglected by its network--never had a chance. And this is 2004--this show hasn't been on in what, 8 years or so? What a testament to its quality/appeal.
Day one. I watched the debut episode, because I liked Kimberly Williams from "Father of the Bride". This was boring and torturous. But then everything from Zwick and Hershkowitz IS. What dreck. "Blah blah blah... where is this relationship going?... blah blah blah... I have these NEEDS!... blah blah blah... I'm getting married, I CAN'T be attracted to you!" I started screaming at the TV: "Christ, shut the hell up, you whiners!" How can anyone stomach this snoozefest, "Thirtysomething" and "Now and Then", "This and That" or whatever that Sela Ward turkey was called
NEVER! Suicidal scheduling and no promotion, on the part of ABC was what sunk this brilliant show. Still think it would have survived if given the chance. Definitely one of the best shows there was, but then again, shows by Zwick and Herskowitz always are, and then always cancelled before they even get half a chance to shine.
never jumped!!!! This show was the single best example of a bad time slot killing a great show! WHO THE HELL PUT THIS SHOW ON ON SATURDAY NIGHTS.THE TARGET AUDIENCE IS OUT THAT NIGHT! If it had stayed on tuesday after it's premiere like it should have, Kimberly Williams would be getting the movie roles offered to Jennifer Aniston instead of being second banana to Jim Belushi on that annoying "According to Jim"
This show never jumped the shark. I remember it pretty well, and I don't think it was even on long enough to be given the chance of jumping the shark. I liked the characters; they were interesting. I admit the show could sometimes be sappy, but I still liked it. It was a good show, and I think it would have lasted quite a while if it had just been given a chance.
