started to jump (but didn't) when you started to realize that all the villians were refugees from the a.v club!never before have i seen the slide projecter and the tape recorder used for such EVIL purposes!but it really jumped when "relatives" like scooby dee and scooby dumb and scooby dumbest,and scooby retarded,hung around to mooch off of scooby,because they couldn't get a show on their own!!and then of course scrappy was just the nail in the coffin!that said i think shaggy should've got a cooking show out of the whole deal!
Day one, definately. The format of the show was mind-numbingly repetative from the get-go, and the characters themselves weren't even remotely entertaining.
After the celebrity-episodes shark jump, the show rebounded by way of the Scooby-Doo/Dynamutt Hour. These are the "lost" Scooby episodes you hardly ever see on TV, and are campy AND spooky. These classic villains include the Ghost of Ebenezer, the No-Faced Zombie, the Ghost of the Mad Doctor from the sanitarium, and the technicolor phantoms that plague the creepy ice cream factory. My favorites! It was great to find these sixteen episodes available on one DVD.
I think the important thing people miss is this: There were no ghosts, demons and witches before Scrappy Doo came along. Think about that.
Scrappy came along and suddenly it was no longer Old Man Smithers trying to scare people away from his secret gold mining expedition using hologram ghost projectors - suddenly, they were facing REAL ghosts and demons. I think Scrappy was an adept at the black arts, possessor of the Book Of the Dead (Necronomicon) and he used this to conjure up all of the evil things Scooby and the gang encountered.
Scrappy was evil.

I hated Crappy-Doo (intentional misspelling there) as much as the rest of you. I loved the fact that on the live-action movie (the first one) Crappy-Doo turned out to be the villain. It was like the producers were acknowledging that everyone hated him and that including him in the series was a mistake all along.

I've always really enjoyed Scooby Doo! 
I grew up watching this cartoon. and I also think Casey Kasem did a great job with providing the voice of Shaggy!

Scrappy was so obnoxious. I stopped watching Scooby Doo when he entered the scene. Or maybe it was because I was getting too old for Scooby at that time.
I have discovered the secrect meaning behind Scooby Doo. You know what it is? Lets examine the evidence.
1. They are a bunch of college age kids that never go to school.
2. They live out of a van with a pysudo-bud leaf on the side called "The Mystery Machine".
3. Shaggy looks like and acts like a stoner who always has the munchies.
4. Fred dresses like a pimp. He is only missing the hat and cane.
5. Daphine is a total slut that always goes off with Fred.
6. Thelma is brains of the whole operation to catch the supposed "Ghost".
7. Scrappy Doo is a crack baby, thats way he is always getting into fights. Scooby Dumb is so stupid because he took far too many drugs.
8. Scooby Doo talks due to the "Scooby Snacks" Which are laced with experimental LSD. Why do you think Shaggy wants them too.
Put it all together, THEY ARE DRUG RUNNERS!!!!
They go around from town to town to drop of drugs and engage in prostitution. The "Ghost" is really the rival drug lord that they are trying to oust. Notice that every character, with the exception of Thelma, aids in the elaborate capture of the ghost. I think that when the capture is going on, she is off making the drug drop. Then they beat it out of town before anybody gets wise. Pretty Crafty don't you think?
