It's enough that Fifth Grader is killing the suspense with the announcement of its first million dollar winner. The real Shark Jump will occur next season, when Fifth Grader copies the game clock format used on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, with the contestant given only 15 seconds to guess the first five questions (first to third grade) and 30 seconds for the next five, ranging from third to fifth grade. It's likely, however, that the contestant won't be faced with a time limit on the Million Dollar Question.
I think this show JTS with the season premiere. First of all, the new kids were not as sharp as last season's. One thought "Peurto [sic] Rico" was in Central America, and another said "General Potter" surrendered at Yorktown. Second, what is this trend of announcing in advance that someone WILL win the million dollars? First "Deal or No Deal" did it and now this. Why kill the only minuscule bit of suspense the show has?
BBR, I did disagree intelligently. I didn't insult you, for starters. That's what trolls do. Secondly, I'm NOT spouting irreverent pop culture references: Stewie from Family Guy DOES think Jeff Foxworthy is not funny. My point was that a lot of people base their opinions on Family Guy's views, and I thought maybe you were one of them. I wasn't trying to be rude there, BBR. That too was a joke of mine.
I don't think Foxworthy's the funniest guy in the world, but AYSTa5G is certainly better than nearly everything on Fox today. I guess that makes me a redneck.

"BBR, just because Stewie from Family thinks Jeff Foxworthy is not funny doesn't necessarily mean it's true."
-Just because you can spout irrelevant pop culture references doesn't mean you have an argument or valid point. I don't think he's funny myself, anyone has a right to disagree, but do it intelligently, please. I may have seemed a bit harsh, but my comment was meant with humor.

Over how long a period of time do they tape a whole season's worth of shows? They couldn't possibly tape a whole season in one day, yet the kids are always wearing the same clothes.

It's called "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader". But ironically, many of the questions are above elementary-school level.
The tagline should be:
"Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? If you're watching, then the answer is no."
If you find Jeff Foxworthy funny, you might be a redneck...either that or you have a really crappy sense of humor.

ENOUGH OF THAT STUPID SONG THEY HAVE TO PLAY EVERY FREAKING COMMERCIAL BREAK. Just the mere sight of Foxworthy on the TV makes me want to shoot the TV, Elvis style.
The questions are no way basic elementary knowledge. It's like the kids were given a basic list of questions to study from, then they had the one up on the adults. The majority of the adults they pick are boneheads though.

I don't know what fifth grade they're getting their questions from... my son was a fifth grader last year, ranked in the top 3% of his class, and his school is highly-ranked among grade schools throughout the US. Curiously, he has NEVER been exposed to a lot of these questions.
Kellie Pickler can't possibly be THAT stupid, can she? Was she being staged as a "dumb blonde?" She actually said she thought Europe was a country. The stupidity on Fox television shows never surprises me.
It's a copy of Howard Stern's bit, but, I don't know, I like this show...I like quiz shows, and it's interesting learn new stuff. But some questions seem a little too middle or high school, if you ask me.
Some Shark-Jumping questions you'll likely see on Fifth Grader:
What company would likely flunk the Pepsi Challenge?
What grain is beer made of?
True or False--There is actually such a town in Mexico that is named for Milhouse, the cartoon character on "The Simpsons".
How do you say "One, two, three" in Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese?
In basketball, how far do you have to shoot before you can earn three points?
What is the default chord on the guitar? (Answer: E Minor, with strings of E, B, G, D, A and E when the instrument is properly tuned.)
Where did the phrase "Jump The Shark" originate?
