To the person below that finds Eliza Dushku unattractive, get your eyes checked. She is smoking HOT. I really liked this show. According to this page it ran from 2003 to 2005. Is this right? It seems like its been off the air a lot longer than that. I recorded a marathon of it on the Sci-Fi channel on 1/21.To bad it wasn't on longer. It was a good show and was worth watching just to see Eliza getting out of bed several times a show and running all over the city.
They just showed series 2 over here in the UK (all 6 episodes) and this show jumped with episode 1 of the second series. The show just lost momentum. Also having to wait 2 years between series means I completely lost the plot.

The last show was pretty sad, "it was good while it lasted" says Tru to Jack, ie oh great, we just got cancelled. I'd watch anything with Eliza Dushka in it though, she is HOT
i was soooo sad wen it got canceld, best show like ever!!!
it was amazing soo shud not have gotten canceled.

i cried when this show got canceled....i loved this show to deATH omg i cant evan explain its been almost two years now and im still recovering...
im willing to bet that all the ppl complaining about bringing jason preistly in bcoz they didn't like the 'good v evil' change of theme, would be complaining just as much if the show had stuck with the origional theme all the way through. It would be 'BORING' theyd say! Wots wrong wiv a little change of pace? ok il admit that his acting sometyms leaves a bit 2 b desired (or mayb its just the smarmyness of jack that gets on my nerves a little), bt he woz starting 2 develop into a REALI interesting character (letting the girl he had feelings 4 fall 2 her death...)
I mean c'mon, this show has one of the best actresses from buffy in it (Eliza DESERVED to get her own show), a very nice looking Shawn Reaves, and that kinda geeky guy we all hav a lil soft spot 4 (gta luv davis - my fav caracter btw). So lets giv it sum CREDIT PEOPLE!
Eliza Dushku is smoking hot!!
This show was hard to get into, but worth it. It's a shame we never got to see it grow into the show it could have been.
When Jason Priestley came to the show, when they made Tru Davie's dad evil and they killed of Luc's character out of the show.
This was a very strong show and I am sorry it was cancelled. I had the opportunity to meet Eliza Dushku at a sci-fi/comic book convention and she was really sweet. The show could get repetitive at times but it was always riveting, brisk, and involving. Eliza was good at playing bad, i.e. Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer but she was much more appealing, I think, playing a heroine.
I have to admit I watched the show every week and actually enjoyed it in a ll its cheesiness. Yes its very unrealistic and predictable but for some reason I kept watching. So is it coming back or what? personally I think it would have been better off with a different "Tru". Everyone here seems to be praising Dushku but sorry she annoys the crap out of me..i get that she's trying to go for "cute" or whatever but its just annoying!!! I find it hard to believe that I'm the only man that finds her unattractive... she was a lot better playing the skanky vampire slayer.....Get a new lead and this show will be worth watching!!!!!!!!
Alright. I'm posing this as of August 2005. Is there anyone who really knows if this show is coming back from limbo? This forum doesn't have an ending date. But that's the fun of Fox, you just never know what you're gonna get. This show apparently had crappy reviews it's first season, which as we all know, gives a show on Fox a better chance at survival that if it showed a lot of promise. So, they play all of season one then like 4 episodes of season 2. Now What? As for my opinion of the quality of the show: Some of the plot holes are just a bit much to swallow. I really didn't stick around for the first few episodes, but it seemed to get a little bit interesting when Jason Priestly joined the cast. I actually figured out from the first few clues given that he was a psycho killer version of Tru, and I really liked how that storyline played out at the season finale. Season 2 looked like a bunch of "Spy vs. Spy" stuff between Eliza Dushku and Jason Priestly. But I guess this will sum up my REAL feelings about the show: ELIZA DUSHKU IS HOT! Quit whining about the cute girl running around the city. Stop looking for story in those scenes and accept it for what it is...excellent TIVO material.
It jumped from the word go - she's always running around like a chicken without a head. The concept is flawed at the best of times. Jason Priestley doesn't help, but at least he's still acting (it was a surprise to me)!
Some of the most recent posters hit the nail on the head: when Priestly's character was introduced, it was the beginning of the end. No longer was the show focusing on Tru dealing with all the complexities of trying to alter the future and facing all the ensuing moral dilemmas, which is what made the show so interesting. Now with Priestly, it simply becomes Tru trying to save them and Priestly trying to stop her; very predictable and formulaic and worst of all...boring. It also didn't help that Priestly's character was so bloody irritating, walking around with a constant smirk on his face and sarcasm in his voice every time he spoke. After a few minutes of him, I was ready to change the channel. I can only assume that Fox changed the show's direction due to soft ratings. It's too bad this was the best idea they could come up with; it killed the show completely.
I really liked the show early on, but it jumped when Priestly entered and pro-Death "Jack" began working against Tru. The whole tenor of the show changed. As Tru vs Jack took up more and more of the plot, I got less and less interested. If the new conflict had been written in shades of gray and some moral complexity it might have worked, but the way it played out was just frustrating, not enticing. I forced myself to watch the first episode of the Spring 2005 short season, hoping that it had changed back. I turned the second hour off fifteen minutes into it and don't plan to give it any more chances.
Jason Priestly is to “Tru Calling” what the evil leaper was to "Quantum Leap", a shark jump
