This should should be renamed 1 vs. 102 because of the three model girls sharing the same podium. I'm getting tired with all the primetime game shows, because they're slow, waste of time, less productive with only "one" person. Even worse, they're all international that any country can air it.
This is my FAVORITE show, period, and has DOND beat by 10 country miles. Host is better, questions more interesting, and the way they have re-vamped it is perfect. I like the Mob (Nun is my favorite), and I like that it is "win-win". If the contestant is too stupid to take the money and run, it gets split amongst remaining mob members.
You can now tell when you are approaching a question that will be too hard to answer quickly. And these people that keep pushing their luck when they already have a nice sum of money - I have no sympathy for them.
I have only one reservation. The "beauty queen" contestant on last night played well - but she got the EASIEST questions I have ever seen on that or any other show. And therefore went home with $500,000. I start getting suspicious when the difficulty of questions varies that drastically from one contestant to another. I'm old enough to know most of the answers to most of the questions, so when I get to one that occasionally stumps me, I'm screaming at the tv "take the money and run you moron..." Half of them listen to me, the other half are indeed morons and leave with nothing.

As the show progresses the questions get harder. I don't like how the questions are formatted. A lot of the are like riddles and you have to what these questions mean. Usually people who share the same name as other nouns. Like Hannah Montana and the state time zone, John Deere with homonym of letter dear. This show is a lot like Greed. Once you see the question, you must answer it. You get it wrong, you go home with nothing. They should at least have a guarantee winnings.
One format I'm thinking, if you lose, the current money you earned should divide by the remaining mob and the contestant. For example: winning amount $100000, 24 mobs left in the show, and the contestant, 100000/25= $4000
The contestant doesn't get affected when the other mobs lost at the question.

Not a watcher.
In early August, a category was about choosing the company name of the weiner
eating contest.
A "Hawaiian Tropic Girl, who was eliminated out in the "mob" (I think you call it) was asked why she missed it.
She said didn't know much about weiners.
Perhaps she is a virgin?

This was an old show from the late 50's to early 60's. The name was Our Town. I simply cannot remember the name of the characters. I can picture their faces. Thankx in advance. Fran
To answer my own question, 1 vs 100 is NOT cancelled. It's just taken a temporary backseat to Identity til next fall (Another show that suffers from a bad host).
Can someone clarify if 1 vs 100 has been cancelled? The last ad I saw last Thurs 3/15/07 said "On the 1 vs 100 finale..."
i liked 1 vs 100. The questions are good, i want to see someone go further. i don't think you should get elimanated for just 1 wring. They should take away money depending on how many people got it right and the difficulty of the question. bob saget isn't a very good host. it's better thasn deal or no deal , millionaire and most of the other game shows within the last few years. i would watch 1 vs 100 than deal or no deal. there's no challenge to that show. it's just luck.
Bob Saget still sucks as a host. At least the show moves faster with its "Twice the questions, twice as fast" format. Unfortunately, a side effect is bad editing. The first show with the new format featured 100 kids in the mob. When the contestant facing the kids was done, they cut straight to a new contestant and within 30 seconds, we witnessed Bob suddenly introducing 100 new ADULT mob members. Now that's bad editing.
The current crop of primetime game shows have been very disappointing. Deal or No Deal is tolerable, but the goofy contestants irritate me. Show Me the Money (William Shatner's very short-lived show) was beyond lame. Identity is OK, but tedious. 1 vs. 100 is actually a welcome change. However, it has its flaws, i.e. the questions don't really change in difficulty, and there's been mob members who have gotten 30+ questions in a row. Why not offer an incentive for them? Or how about offering the remaining mob members something when a contestant quits? I dunno, something for the time they spend standing there. Other than that, fun show. Bob Saget's a decent host, but could tone down the yelling. And I love how they have "special interest groups" who sit in the mob, i.e. DMV employees, meter maids, lawyers, a real-life "40-year-old virgin"!
The problem with this show is that no contestant is ever going to try to go all the way for the million. The closer you get, the more you risk, and you never know how many more you'll need to get right. They should change the rules so that you can miss one without losing it all. I suggest that if you get the answer wrong, the mob gets part of your money for every one of them who got it right, but you're not eliminated until they get it all. For instance, if you have $100,000, the dollar level of the question you missed is $5000 and 15 mob members got it right, you lose $75,000 and can continue with the $25,000 you have left. But if 20 or more mob members got it right, you're gone.
To the person commenting on Jan. 19, 2007 episode with actual mobsters. Michael Franzese is a FORMER MOBSTER. I have heard several interviews with him and he had to move across the country to get away from the mafia. It's an amazing story. http:/ / www. michaelfranzese. com/ main/ home. aspx I can't comment on the other "mobster" but I would suspect he is no longer a member of the mafia. Everyone needs to use a little common sense here, use your brain people. By the way it's a great show! It does not take any skill to win on Deal or No Deal, this show is NOTHING like that show. You have to answer questions whereas on Deal or No Deal you just pick a stupid box, how can these two shows be similar or 1 vs. 100 a ripoff of Deal vs. No Deal?
