Vote for why you think it jumped
Never Jumped
Day One
Focuses on detective cliche parodies
Product placement (GAP in 4th episode)
Shark Bytes
This show's cancellation is the reason why TV stinks today. Today's TV audience doesn't know what good TV is.
This show was never given a fair chance,I thought it was on its way to becoming a classic. It was essentially a reincarnation of Get Smart. A clueless dope thwarts evil despite his ineptitude. There was very little plot, just a thread to connect the jokes. Andy Richter has a very subtle style and you have to pay attention to really enjoy his wit. He can draw a favorable comparison to Bob Newhart, the understated everyman surrounded by nuts. A pox on NBC for never letting it get off the ground.
How could the 30 seconds of references cause a series to jump the shark.

Do you even know what"jump the shark" means, people? A show can't jump the shark on day one! It can be a terrible show that will be canceled soon, but to jump the shark a show has to be on a while and then do or have something done to it so ridiculous (to the shows orginal style) that causes people to stop liking it!
Wow- you've watched 4 episodes and have been bugged by the Gap product placement? How many times during the show have you failed to notice that Andy Barker drives a Saturn Ion? Every time he drives somewhere, we see the rear of the car and reminded that this guy drives a Saturn Ion. Maybe what bugs you is product placement that is out there, not the product placement that is subtle. No matter how much or little you realize it, all shows have product placement in some for of another.
Great show, really love it.
However it jumped the shark the day it decided to replace PLOT with an insidious 5-10 minute GAP commerical.
It lost credibility and I haven't watched it since. I told NBC & GAP that I really didn't appreciate them trying to fool me into thinking a discussion of GAP & pants are part of plot development.

Jumped? Ha! Andy Barker never got near the water. It's a classic fish-out-of-water story; a parody of the film noir, private investigator genre. Even though it employs some cliches, it knows that they're cliches. And Andy (the fish) isn't floundering in a area in which he has no experience: he quickly realizes that his investigative skills in accountancy as just as useful when attempting to solve other crimes.
I didn't laugh once at the first, and only, showing of "Andy Barker" that I watched. I enjoy good comedies, but this is far from it. A soon-to-be-cancelled effort, I think.
4 episodes in, never jumped. The show got off to a rocky start, but every episode since has been better than the last. So, not a Day One jumper at all.
I'm hoping NBC gives the show a chance to find an audience, it's a great premise, and has a lot of potential, not to mention a wealth of comedic talent involved.

6 votes for 'Day One' - ridiculous! There have only been 3 shows. Some viewers just can't help but show how clueless they are. Give it some time, then vote! I'll give Conan and Andy credit for trying something new. All these 'reality' show popping up seem so 'unreal'. Great show so far.
