Never understood what happened with this one. Everybody I knew watched it. Theme song hit #1 on the adult contemporary charts. The show itself was #5 in the nation (1978-79 season).

Then it got canceled.

Huh?

I smell a conspiracy.
Wow, Nita...Angie fanfic? Holy mackerel.

Enjoyed this show when it originally aired (I was 8), don't know if I'd like it now. Seems like an interesting concept that quickly ran out of steam. Poor working girl marries rich guy from conservative family and...? NOW WHAT DO WE DO??

Kickin' theme song, though.
I remember in the late 80s this show was rerun late at night and it was pretty entertaining. The theme song was beautiful, I believe it was sung by Mary Mcgregor. And for a half hour show there was an unbelievable amount of characters!!! Wish we could see this again.
I loved this show. Donna was adorable and Robert in his pre-airplane days was still funny. And you know what was really great about this show???? That's right Ted McGinley never appeared on it! Plus the catchy theme song.
Great show! Robert Hayes and Donna Pescow were a great looking couple. Fond memories of laughing a lot watching this show when I was a kid.
I remember when this show was on in reruns in the 1980s. It was quite good but sometimes the plots were lame. Some of the fanfic myself and my brothers made up about it were better (like we had the father of the girls return one time).

Nita
Angie was one fine sitcom. I remember this show so fondly. I loved Donna Pescow; what a knockout! I always dreamed of meeting Donna Pescow when I was a kid. The entire cast on Angie was perfect! Robert Hays, Debralee Scott, Doris Roberts, Emory Bass, Sharon Spellman, etc. Sadly, it only lasted a mere two seasons. Gosh, I can vividly remember watching Angie when it was new on ABC with my family. I sure remember the opening with the balloons and Donna Pescow and Robert Hays eating popcorn in the park. Robert Hays juggling apples and he tosses one to Donna. The shots of Independence Hall and the "Angie" title coming full lenght on the TV screen. And when Doris Roberts kicks her ironing board to raise it up. And the theme tune, "Different Worlds", still goes through my head after all these years. I'm fortunate to have some episodes on VHS that were copied eons ago. It was a great show for kids and adults alike. Not the rancid garbage that all shows made today exhibit. I pity the young people today for what they have in terms of "television entertainment." Geeez, from "reality" crap to half baked so-called sitcoms and the remainder of filler media that is nothing more than mind pollution! Television for the brain-dead! That's today's TV! Network television will NEVER be what it once was. I'm just glad I was born in time to be able to view the now classics when they originally aired. If there wasn't cable or satellite television or VCR's and DVD's, I'd junk my TV in a millisecond!

PS

Angie NEVER jumped the shark!
Let the time flow. Let the love grow. Let the rain shower. Let the rose flower. Love it seeks, love it finds, love it conquers, love it binds. We come to each other from different worlds. Drawn to each other by the love inside of us. We come to each other, our different worlds. As long as we can do it, life is gonna breeze right through in. Let the time flow. let the love grow. Let the rain shower. Let the rose flower. Love it seeks, love it finds, love it conquers, love it binds. We reach for each other from different worlds. With love for each other that can stand the test of time. We're up to the challenge of different worlds. With this love inside us, theres nothing divide us. Let the time flow. Let the love grow. Let the rain shower. Let the rose flower. Love it seeks, love it finds........ Love it conquers, love it binds, love it seeks, love it binds.... Love it seeks, love it binds, love it conquers, love it......... Love it conquers, love it finds, love it seeks, love it binds.
THIS WAS A GREAT SHOW COMPARED TO WHAT
IS ON TODAY. I WAS 5 YEARS OLD WHEN IT
AIRED. MY FAMILY LIKED THAT SHOW. IT WAS
VERY FUNNY. I CAN'T BELIEVE EVERYONE IS
SAYING IT JUMPED THE SHARK. IT IS SAD TO
KNOW THAT IT DID'NT LAST THAT LONG, LOOK
AT KINGS OF QUEENS, THAT SHOW BLEW CHUNKS AND IT LASTED MORE THAN 2YEARS I
SAY PUT IT ON DVD.
Debra Lee is the wife on the plane in Earthquake. She uses playing cards to predict danger and death on the flight before attempting to land in LA. I'm upset all the plane scenes are removed in syndication showing of the movie.
"Let the rain shower, let the rose flower..lalalal...I loved Angie..the show itself was pretty bizarre in itself, the campy song lyrics made my summer of '79 a happy one. I had a crush on the blond, spoiled brat...didn't Angies sis Debra Lee have a cameo in Earthqake...Donna Pescow was my fave back then, the 70's big hair syndrome...
Well I've never watched the show but I do like the theme song to it. The theme has disco sound which I own on CD from my TV's greatest hits collection.
I used to think this show sucked and I've changed my mind. Compared to the crap that's on now it was brilliant.
This show didn't last long enough to jump! I remember watching this show during the summer before I started 5th grade almost 21 years ago. I remember that long theme song with all those key changes and that crazy beginning. And the mom from Everybody Loves Raymond was on this show. She had brown hair then.
This show never had a chance to jump, it wasn't on long enough. I thought Debralee Scott was funny as Marie, Angie's younger sister. I was sad to learn that Debralee died in April of 2005.
