Barney is a kids show, he is for KIDS. Yes, is no 'Mister Rogers' or 'Electric company', but he teaches children, and people who say 'liek lets kiel barney coz he suked 4ever lol' appearently have no life, as they are judging a kids show.

Anyway, Barney probably jumped when he cashed out, heck, I heard he was canned, and I still see his Merchandise on the walls at K-mart's toy aisle.

it was a huge deal to me as a little kid. C'mon why is everyone so frickin against a giant smiling dinasour, i mean im not very happy about the cussing barney actor rumors, but thats the actor, not the character.

Last night there was nothing good on TV so I put on Barney just to see the 'subtle change' in Barney's voice everyone on this site is always talking about. It's true. Oh and my cat was laying beside me sleeping and just when Barney began the I Love You song, my cat mysteriously got up and left.

*clears throat* I hate you, you hate me, let's hang Barney from a tree. With a great big kick and a shot to Barney's head, I'm so glad that Barney's dead!

Jumped when they switched from hangin' out at school to the tree house...then to the Playground.
What? We can't play at school anymore? Barney was suppose to be the friend you play with after school in the playground! He was the teacher who was cooler than your other ones.

Dalisonion is right. Compared to really stimulating kids' programming that aired from the 60's into the late 70's-early 80's, Barney is junk. It's not a matter of hating the character, it's a matter of quality. Barney can't hold a candle to shows like Capt. Kangaroo, Fred Rogers or Sesame Street (pre-Elmo version).

Barney was cool when I was little. It jumped when they play area moved from the school playground to the Tree House and the local Park. It rips children from the joys of school because they are taking recess away!

It's Barney people. You probably used to love him! The only reason you hate him is that you grew up! There is nothing wrong with Barney! It's education for little kids. I don't love Barney, I think it's weird like you. But it's part of growing up. So stop acting like toddlers and get over yourselves.

Compared to classic kids programming that actually taught things in a non-patronizing manner (Captain Kangaroo, Mister Rogers, etc.), Barney is brain-dead 'New Age PC' swill.

I think people who criticize barney because they think "I'm way too cool for that" are kust show offs and need to stop saying reetarde things about Barney. I really enjoy stephanie's comment because she is right, just because you are older and don't watch it as much, doesn't mean you have to hate him!

Guys! Do you realize that you're criticizing a children's show? From what I remember from watching it as a kid, it taught me stuff.... and that's what kids shows are supposed to do, right?
