Shark Bytes
Jumped the shark on the pilot episode! She had transplants and can stand up and move like she had them all her life, she can use them very well to fight in an instant, finds her nemesis, she accepts everything in a blink and decides to work with the company who made her Bionic Woman: all that in 20 mins! This is so unrealistic!
I actually quite liked the potential of this series. It's sorta not fair to judge an eight-episode series on where it might've jumped the shark, especially a continuing drama like this. It was only at the stage that it was asking those season-long story arc questions, and we don't really know what the answers might have been. Yes, it was awfully muddled, but it could definitely have found its footing, if not for the writer's strike.
That said, Heroes has pretty much disproven the notion that a show absolutely needs time to find its footing. That show — which is probably one to offer fair comparison — demonstrated that you can build great mystery and drama from the first scene.
So, maybe the failure to have a clear initial narrative path means it did jump, for some people, from day one. Still, I thought that the last two episodes were beginning to show promising signs of focus, and think it's one of the more unfortunate casualties of the 2007 WGA strike.

sometimes just let sleeping dogs lie. these bionic shows had their time, and that time has long passed. they can't even agree who owns the rights to SMDM hence a theatrical movie has stalled. you can't compete with sped up film shots.
I guess NBC thought it was worth a try...I have to agree with a previous poster: that the 2007-2008 "Writer's Strike Season" was the worst season for television in my memory...and you may have hated this show, but the "tone" of the show, lackluster performances by the lead actress (can't the networks FIND American actresses to fill these roles?), coupled with writing that was obviously not up to par is what did the show in. It's a shame, because although the show has been done before, the premise is still brilliant (as it was 35 years ago). NBC COULD have done this correctly, but I guess just wasn't willing...
I got the first volume of this series as a birthday present. I hate the fast-to-slow motion special effects of Jaime running and I am sick of the drawn-out fight scenes that are similar to the Matrix. Bring back the original Bionic Woman, Lindsay Wagner! (And Oscar Goldman, Rudy and Steve Austin ) The Fembot episodes were my most favorite! The new Jaime had too much attitude and acted like a skank(along with her bratty-"difficult" sister)
Last year I paid 80 dollars for a DVD set of the original Bionic Woman. But when I got it, most of the discs were badly scratched and weren't well played by my DVD Player. They seemed like pirated episodes recorded off the Sci-Fi Channel(And they probably were!) I never felt so ripped off!

I wanted to like this show, but it was soooo BORING, It's reported LIDSEY WAGNER couldn't stand this show either. The original was fun and campy...who remembers the FEM-BOTS? Those were the good old days and thats what I grew up on, this show was just no fun, and the lead character was boring and un attractive.
BIONIC WOMAN 07 was staring at JAWS' pearly whites from day one!!! The all too common anti-hero attitude, with the "I can't trust anyone" I didn't ask for this" attitude is geting soooo old. Oh and not to mention she has no problems killing people? So it's Jamie the gangsta' now? As she stated in episode 1 or 2 she would "bury everyone of em." (guards following her.)
I think people like the original because they actully liked the character. Characters like Sydney Bristow, and the original Bionic woman--you wanted her to succeed--but this new girl--- I'm just waiting for the next model to take her place.
It's a good thing girly's got bionics cause she needs the strength to balance that huge chip on her shoulder!

hahahahahahahah...all the promotional crap they did for this show, u could tell they were soooo proud of themselves. note to tv executives out there: a couple of hot brawds saying things makes for a good tv show not! this was a lame answer for filling the "alias" gap (also a lame show)
This is too rich! Really.
They didn't make enough eps of the drek for reruns! It's OVER. Really, really OVER.
NO USA, NO SCI-FI, nope, no Bionic Woman. No teenage sister from hell, no Brit trying to sound American.
And the writers can go to remedial "Creative Writing 101" and practice some more. Good-bye.

Okay, back to the strike. Well, somebody noticed. And now, somebody isn't coming back!
Give a Network time to catch up readin' JTS and get a breath, well, daylight.
Can you say: CANCELED?
So, WGA, you readin' this? 100% of something is better than OUT OF WORK.
Write better! Maybe, just maybe we--the audience--will give a damn.
Or, just stay on strike. Either way WE will remember. Payback is a bitch.

Gave it a go, and it didn’t get better, so auf wiedersehen, Jaime. This a ‘re-imagining’ in the sorry tradition of ‘Planet Of The Apes’, in which people we don’t like do things we don’t care about. In the scriptwriters’ efforts to make things trendily ‘dark’ they went overboard, and the ‘Jaime Sommers’ character was hard to find empathy with. Moreover, they glossed over her transformation from human to cyborg, a 'mutation' which should have been better explored (perhaps a la David Cronenberg's remake of 'The Fly'). What really deep-down irked however, was that despite plenty of feedback over the decades, the writers still ignored elementary science. Fair enough, it’s sci-fi and we the audience do have to give up some of our disbelief to meet them in the middle, but she’s got a normal spine and arm just like Steve Austin did 30 years ago. A couple of biggish leaps (let alone street-wide rooftop to rooftop spectaculars) and she’d be in hospital with some severely impacted discs. The same litany of cartoon-logic howlers which plagued Bigfoot-bashin’ Steve after the benefit of THREE DECADES? Somebody wasn’t trying very hard. Looks like those eight episodes are all we’re going to get, though.
Why, in TV shows, can't we see the FIRST of something? There's always a proto-type with a backstory.
I had such high-hopes for this series, and they tanked it. Bad writing, flat acting. Dumb.

The show hasn't jumped yet, but it's lining up with the ramp and going full speed. I think they started it out too dark and are realizing it and have lightened the mood a bit. I'm still not sure about it, but I'll Tivo it and watch it if there's nothing else on.
And I agree: Why isn't she breaking people's necks or snapping their spines when she kicks or punches them?
