Shark Bytes
The show hasn't JTS yet imo, but it will soon if it doesn't do somethign different. Every episode is the same - some poor guy\girl got in toruble and Michael reluctently agrees to help. He then impesoantes someone to get in the bad guy's inner circle, ruins their pland, the bad guys die or go to jail, everyone's happy. Ofc they add 5-10 minutes of the on going plot into each episode, but imo it's not enough. I really think they need to come up with different ideas for episodes.
In the episode where Michael was supposed to be hired for a hit by his old co-worker, there was definitely a "jump the shark" moment toward the end. Despite the fact that Fiona and the "target" were traveling in a non-descript sedan WITH A CELLPHONE JAMMER that made it impossible for them to communicate, Michael managed to FIND THEM somewhere in the broad reaches of Miami, in a stolen duelly, JUST IN TIME to save them from the guy who was chasing them in a dump truck.
Yeah, right.
Yeah, right.
Burn Notice is action-packe, sexy, hot, sizzling and all that other stuff. It's a fun show and a total thrill ride. Jeff Donovan is cool, Bruce Campbell is funny and Gabby Anwar is my favorite girl now!
Hey this never jumped! OK, so it's basically "The Fugitive" meets "The Rockford Files," but what's wrong with that? Just hope USA doesn't burn this one anytime soon!
If one of his missions goes bad, ie. someone he is trying to save gets killed, that's when it jumps. I don't think it's possible for Westin to be any more badass, and while it's not entirely believable that he is able to beat everyone he goes up against, it makes for a good show.
Love this show! Always fun and exciting. Glad they broke up Fee and Michael for now. I think they can do alot with that and then get them back together somewhere down the line. Hope to see more of Nate this season. He's a great character and a good counter balance to Michael. Keep up the great story lines and hope this show is around for a long time.
Love this show from the beginning, and it has just got better, and better.!!! at first could not stand fiona always hassleing michael about their relationship, but since she's backed off this season it's ok. Jeffrey Donovan, and Bruce Campbell are the best !!!
The only thing you need to know about this show is that it has Bruce Campbell in it, as he instantly makes anything ten times cooler simply by being in it. It's kinda like how playing "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" during a slo-mo sequence instantly makes any activity ten times cooler. Lord only knows what would happen if you combined "Battle" with Bruce Campbell, quite possibly the universe would end. And it would be awesome.
*ahem* Great show, funny characters, nifty "spy tips", and an engaging story. They need to lose Carla, though, or at least take her down a few pegs; I can't wait for the day Michael finally gets fed up with her arrogant ass and tosses her in a car trunk.

This has passed up Monk as my new favorite show. Yes, it's campy and sometimes predictable, but it's a fun and exciting ride each episode. The hour just flies by! I don't think the show has a long shelf-life, but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. Hopefully a few good years.
More and more, USA Network is becoming my "go to" channel for quality television shows, and "Burn Notice is one of the best reasons for that. I first saw Jeffrey Donovan as a serial killer in an episode of "Homicide: Life on the Street" and have been following his career ever since. He is perfectly cast as "outed" spy Michael Westen. Gabriele Anwar, who plays Fiona, has been a favorite of mine since she danced the tango with Al Pacino in "Scent of a Woman",and Bruce Campbell rocks as Sam, the boozing, womanizing ex-Navy SEAL. At first I was kinda cool to the idea of Sharon Gless as Michael's chain smoking mom but the more I watch the show the more comfortable I am with her. An earlier poster compared this show to "The Rockford Files", and I can see that, as Gless's character is not unlike Rocky, only less supportive of her son.
I'm not sure that I like the addition of the female spy sho burned Michael in Season 2 but I'll be patient. As long as we don't see too much of her or Michael's brother Nate, "Burn Notice" won't jump the shark.

enjoy the show, course there doesnt seem to be anything else worth watching on right now...lately, bsg taking 2 years to show there last 20 eps. anywho...feed Fee...give that girl a cookie! she is pretty now, just think if every bone wasnt showing on her frail undernourished body. pack on 15 pounds buddy!
This is a very intelligently written spy show, with a twist. It's very clear that there's someone with real operational experience working with the writers. The little tricks of the trade are not things a "civilian" would intuit, and the voice-over explanations are interesting.
The primary characters have good chemistry, and the dark humor works for me.
I'm really looking forward to the new season.

I think it's the best show on right now. We looked forward to it every week until the DVD set came out. The main chaarcter is smarmy and interesting, as well as the supporting cast.
Just hope they don't end up JTS (I have my doubts based on the finale of season 1) and make the story so convoluted that finding out who burned Michael becomes a sidenote of the series. Will keep watching and am looking forward to Season 2 in July.
