Whoever brought up "The Lorax" was absolutely right. It did everything Captain Planet did, and a million times better, because the characters were actually REALISTIC. In "The Lorax", you have a "villain" who causes problems through his apathy for the environment, interest in gaining profit, and even interest in getting his family jobs. The hero, while he spoke the truth and did what was right, failed to reach the "villain" on a level that made him realize what he was doing by being too loud, pushy, and bossy.

In Captain Planet, you have five utterly perfect little kids and a plethora of one-dimensional villains who dump gallons and gallons of oil in the ocean just 'cause they can. Not to mention a blue-skinned magical man with a green mullet who flies in and saves the day at the last minute....mmkay.

Jumped on the first day. Also, the kid who got the "heart" power got screwed.

They got chased off the air in their own right fortunately due to being based on toys and to being violent. I'll take 50s-6s shorts.

Just showed up on my demand service put it on for my 4 year old. i forgot how bad this show was, made by liberals for liberals. Plus why was the American kid such an a-hole. just plain bad, even my 4 year old said turn it off after about 15 minutes.

I don't know if this of mine was psoted but (Earth day, so no time like the present, right) Whoopi, and that other chick doing "Gaia"...celebrities, celebrities, etc. June "Rocky the Squirrell" Foray or someone like that ANYDFAY (though un PC I know for a white gal to dol an African American earth woman but Junebug's had much more experience at cartoons...actually Whoopi is disctintive, yes but this was a case of the badf trend t'wards badfd celeb-voice castinbg. Now today, if they only got ELLEN PAGE..I'd love THAT!) Oh yeah, that one AMERICAN WHITE KID wass the ONLY BAD TEEN AROUND!!! Only C.Planet and Gaia are the good ADULTS whom I can THINK of...in short bad casting and 99 percent of adults are bad vis avis the "GOOD teens" (and the adul;t title "personality"..note quotes-rhymes huh? HAH!)

lol this show is the Jump the Shark for saturday morning cartoons!! Now THAT is pretty bad! XD

No doubt that back in the 90's, when Al Gore got home in the afternoon after playing VP, he fired up the bong, turned on TBS and watched "Captain Planet" while Tipper brought him his cookies and milk.

man, that was the most cheesy show ever created by human hands.

There have been some funny a$s parodies of it on youtube, though.

So you want to know who is polluting the planet? Is it factories that procduce smog? Is it ethanol? No, stupid! Only "supervillains" can cause pollution! That means, if I run a lumber mill, but don't plant enough trees to replace the ones cut down, does that mean I'm the spawn of Satan? According to Ted Turner, yes I am! I hope that the concept of Captain Lame-O comes to realization.

Jumped on Day One with "Heart." I understand the reasoning behind having the Heart power (as CP's conscience). Like all superhero cartoons, however, the "hero" only adds to the overall problem by failing to actually deal [permanently] with the real issues. Just kill the bad guys and clean up the planet, already!

Its hard to think of TV show as somthing evil. However, this one fits the the bill. It takes every conplex issues and reduces it having characters that want to produce pollution. Hy even Dr. Susis in the lomax story had said the people wanted the product so much.

This show is an abomination. If I wanted to learn about the enviroment, I'd go to school and learn about it, not on my TV.

This cartoon sucks majorly and it's one of the main reasons why cartoons went downhill.

This could possibly be the worse kids show ever to grace television. Why the hell-o was heart a super power.? The heart kid was so gay. He never contributed to anything. Captain planet isn't even a real super hero. I don't recall him ever kicking a*s. He'd just show up and clean sh*t out of lakes and stuff. And why was he till with grass-green hair. This is probably the worse show ever next to David the Nome and the New Ghostwriter Mysteries. Shame on those who attemp to force their morals on children ages 4-8. Shame on you.
