does anyone know where to get this show in dvd or vhs?
This show was a low point during the Nickelodeon Golden Era. You'd have Double Dare, Hey Dude, You Can't Do That On Television and then this crud. Entertaining for maybe five seconds.
This show never jumped the shark! Dave Coulier was awesome, and back then he was kind of a hottie, so it doesn't matter about Alanis, ha... "Diz" was the lady that looked like Cyndi Lauper, and I think her role was the same throughout the show -- they only made 26 episodes in all...! (1984, April-Sept. was when it was filmed, I believe.)
Actually, the really annoying person the above poster was talking about was named Diz. Her real name was Diz McNally, but her station manager character on the show was named Diz Aster (Get it?) Yes she was really, REALLY annoying! She wore make-up like Cyndi Lauper, talked like she was chewing cud, and would scream AIEEEAIEEE! AIEEEAIEEE! like she was a chimpanzee at the zoo! She was so hyperactive she made Dave Coulier look normal! Now THAT'S saying something!
I can't for the life of me remember the character's name, was it Roz? She was like a secretary or stage manager who looked like a cross between Phyllis Diller and Cyndi Lauper. She had this really annoying whistle-scream that she would invoke to get people's attention or whenever she was excited, and when she got a heavier role in the show, Out of Control WAS, and JTS.
yeah, much like full house, uncle joey (i think he has a REAL name) ruined this show ("cut it out")
Dave Coulier is the inspiration for "You Oughta Know" by Alannis Morrisette. The thought of someone giving him head in a movie theatre makes me wretch. Cut. It. Out.
This show never jumped. I remember this show when I was younger and I wish I had that speed up machine. You know, that thing that would speed up time so that you could do your chores quicker. Just cut it out!
This old nickelodeon show rocked! NEVER JUMPED! This made a name for Dave Coulier(sp?).
Dave Coulier is a poor man's Ted McGinley. Actually, Ted McGinley is probably a poor man's Ted McGinley, but that's besides the point. This was the being of his hackdom, on lame Nickelodeon sat. morning show. Had it's moments, and probably respected kids more than standard kiddie far, but Dave's insufferable Popeye impressions, and hand gesture demonstrating "cut it out" will be forever immortalized in the cheese dick hall of fame. Some other spotty supporting players flesh out this lame-o convention
Of course I refer to "Out of Control" with Dave Coulier, of Full House fame. This was his big break as I recall, and aired on Nickelodeon in the U.S., though I think it may have had Candaian origins (like many Nick shows).
