it was after the very first eposode "MIAMI VICE" WAS MY FAVORITE FRIDAY NIGHT SHOW DALLAS WAS OVERRATED
that pipsqueak character carter mackay replaced can't think of his name WHO CARES? bottom line: i can't beleived i once watched this drievel
carter mackay was a jerk he replaced some pipsqueak that was the last straw in retrospect it was dumb show everyone in the cast was a ham
I remember that Lucy was with Ray. I also remember that Pam was an old flame of RAy's. It was on way too long. I watched it for years right up until the dream season. Then I lost interest. Funny but I began watching it in NYC but then relocated to aboaut 10 miles from South Fork.
I prefered the way life was in the dream. Does anyone but me remember
that in the beginning, Lucy was
sleeping with Ray, who was later
revealed to be her uncle? I'll never
forget how angry I was when they
replaced The Carol Burnett Show
with this. Then I grew to love
Dallas and watched it until the end.
I agree, it was on too long.
Dallas went downhill after The Dream season it destroyed whatever credibility it had. Then Pam got into that fiery crash. She should have died because nobody could have survived it. The writers made he burned and what did they do next? They had her leave Bobby and Christopher because she loves them so much that she doesnt want them to see her disfigured. Any mother should know how devastating it would do to her son.
The show got silly during the last couple of years: J.R. ending up on a chain gang? J.R. putting himself in a mental instituition to fleece someone out of their will??

In the early years, J.R. would never have let himself get into such things. I think the writers ran out of ideas and came up with these sitcom storylines to keep the show going.

It didn't help that several of the main characters were no longer part of the show (Sue Ellen, Pam, Miss Ellie, Clayton, etc.) and that it was pretty much down to J.R. and the revived Bobby.

And the final It's A Wonderful Life-type episode was a horrible way to end the series. They should have just wrapped up the storylines in a conclusive way and be done with it.

Dallas was a lot of fun in the early years, particularly when J.R. was truly menacing. He was cold and evil, yet always grinned when he got his way, which became his trademark.

But the show ran a few years too long and was a pale imitation of itself towards the end.
what happened to Michelle Stevens (Kimberly Foster) after she left Dallas and what is she doing today?
Dallas is one of my all time favorite shows. Sure it jumping moments, what show doesn't! But my least favorite and most implausible storyline was Sue Ellen having the affair with the young counselor. He looked about 12 years old! It would have been more believable if the the actor was better looking and with a much better masculine body.
jumped that time JR made a sneeky business deal and Bobby got mad
I dont know if everybody elese knows this, but I guess the new movie, that was suppose to star John Travolta, is no longer and Ben Stiller is suppose to be the new JR. The story is going to be more of comedy. What a shame to take a great drama series and make it into a joke. Shame on the writers.
I didn't think it jumped when Jock died, but found the whole storyline with the guy claiming to be Jock a few years later to be disrepectful and in very poor taste.
JTS When Sue Ellen divorced JR and moved to the Southern Cross Ranch. Dusty Farlow was the worst character ever on dallas.
oh yeah i forgot. i told some friends that the last episode of the sopranos might be like the last one for dallas!
it pretty much turned out like that. up in the air wondering if tony/jr was alive........and then u could alwyas make a movie down the road!!!serious, i got friends who can back me up on this!
well, jock ruled! like one poster said,..can u imagine how the show would have been if jim wouldnt have died?!next. yeah, i admit it, i thought the dreame season was cool!
i loved the angelica nero plotline.anyway, about the dream season.....BOBBY MUSY HAVE BEEN THE MAN FOR PAM TO HAVE A DREAM LIKE THAT! a 22 hour dream. he must have wore her out! heck, one episode in that season starts with sue ellen HAVING A DREAM ABOUT RUNNING WITH JOHN ROSS TRYING TO ESCAPE JR!! WOW A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM. if i was pam,and i could remember that dream, id leave dallas and go to hollywood and write a script for a tv series!!!!
