Never Jumped
The second season
Animal mutants
Day One
Defeat of Manticore
Shark Bytes
Jumped in the second episode should be an option.
Pilot was sufficiently interesting, and then along came that second episode..When she's in "heat".
That was embarassing to watch.

I see the series as a failure of the writers. Started out with a bang. Good concept, good show, good characters, all the way around. Season two, from almost the beginning, the writers seemed to be looking for a place to go. Bring a new character, drop this character, bring back this character, lets do this character again, what do we do with this character type of thing constantly asking themselves(the writers) where do we go from here.
Brought in some good ideas and dropped them quickly with no futher explanation.
Season 2 was the last because the writers probably could not come up with an answer to -- Where do we go from here?

The show was great. It was an original script at the time it first aired until it got to season 2, where fox MURDERED the show. First of all they made the suicide move of moving the show to Friday night; i mean come on people, no one stays home and watches TV on Friday not even for Jessica Alba. Then they blow up manticore in the 1st ep of season 2, they should have made the whole of season 2 about max in Manticore. Third they continued to pit max and logan together, people she'a an engineered revved up body, she needs more than a crippled pathetic excuse of a man, i mean wasn't that the whole point of introducing Alec, to replace logan. I mean season 1 was originally supposed to kill off Logan not Zack but the writers made a last minute change. Season 2's saving grace was the max alec interaction though i would have loved to see a season 3 because from what i heard max was to finally open her eyes and give Alec a try in season 3.
They should either make a third season on tie it all up with a movie or two...
I think this show had alot of potential... The second season seemed to be going down a bad path as I did not believe it was as good as the first season however the last couple of episodes were great....
Its a shame the show was dropped... especially considering the one it was dropped for did not even last a full season... it atleast got a movie to tie up some loose ends...
I think if they make a movie they would have a better chance of getting the original actors to be a part of it as it has a bigger audience, more money and less time compared to a full season or two more when they are already all working on other seasons or movies...
I would love to see a movie or season come out...lets hope that the writers, producers and actors etc are of the same opinion if the idea ever gets put forward properly...

I thought this show was amazing the first season. I watched every episode and loved it. 2nd season came along and I couldn't believe how they destroyed the whole show. The mutants were ridiculous! The dog man was terrible, that whole thing with the virus got to be really annoying. I couldn't make it through the whole season!
Did this show even have time to jump the shark?
Only in the first season, but how much can go wrong in two seasons?

I absolutely love Max and Logan together and it sucked sooo much that they had to give Max a stupid virus. In one comment, they said that the show began to revolve around the virus and I dont think that's right. I think that James Cameron and the other producers made up the visusto keep Max and Logan apart so that people would focus more on the transgenics and that worked out in the end. James got people to focus on transgenics and Max and Logan shippers got hope. The hope that I'm talking about is in the final scence of Freak Nation (hopefully you've seen it) when Max and Logan are holding hands through gloves. I cried at that part.
I love Jessica Alba as an actress and I think she's awesome. I didn't find anything wrong with her performance throughout all of the show, so I dont understand why someone she sucks. She did great.
Also, I would just like to say, that in my opinion, I think it's kind of groos to put Max and Alec as a couple, considering the BIG fact that he's a clone of someone who she looked at as her brother. In my opinion, its gross. But that's just the wya I look at it. Im not trying to upset anyone who likes Max and Alec together, just saying.
Anyway, Dark Angel is still one of my favourite shows.

If only they had given us a season three this is one show that definately deserved that much. Why is it that all the shows which are actually good get the cut?
Max and Alec - will love you forever.

I really did like the 1st season much better than the second. The 2nd season had advantages too, like the advent of Alec, whom I thought was a funny, yet complex character. I felt that part of the Dark Angel charm is that Max was more unique than even Logan could understand. In the 2nd season, however, they made almost everyone a mutant or human (looking) character from Manticore. Where's the fun in that??? All of the super hero movies out there have the charm of "I can do things no one else can." With making the whole city "infested" with the manticore experiments, it took away from Max, Zach and the other's uniqueness.
Also, the throwback of social comentary on racism was tacked on &, I felt, really out of place. I'm referring to a scene in the final episode where we see an older lady being interview on the tv news and she says something about all God's creaters, and then finding the Manticore folks to be the exception. Slave masters often claimed to be "God fearing Christians" while owning other people... But I digress.
I know that some would hate the VSE where we find out that Alec was once in love, but (he belived) she had been killed, but that is all and all my favorite episode of season 2. I like seeing the more vulnerable side of the wise cracker, but that's just me.
I agree with everyone else that they should've ended it better. But the second season did have a nice ending unto itself (We're here, and we're not going anywhere, deal with it!!!). I'm curious to find out where the show would have gone from there, but I'm sorta glad it ended. My instincts tell me that it would ended up in major JTS realm had it gone any futher. Sometimes the best thing a show can do is leave the ending to the imagination of the viewers (Will the humans ever accept the Manticore people??????????).
All too often we seem to want to be lead from a to b to c. I say the way it happened was more perfect than most realize and shouldn't have happened any other way!!!!!!

I voted for "Never Jumped" because I was very sad the story was never completed. Season One was better as Season Two, which bored me just a little with the strange creatures. But Jessica Alba was very beautiful in the show, and Michael Weatherley was also cool. The virus in the second Season was bad for the show, I think.
i think the second season went downhill. i also think the halloween episode was stupid. but i think the point of that episode was to make fun of the show itself and how ridiclus it became
Dark Angel is the best show I've ever seen.
Sure, the second season was completely different, with all the mutants and it lost some charm, on the other hand it got more exciting and more dangerous.
I can't say which was better, probably the first, because it had a clearer ending than the second, even though Max died. But the virus thing was really bad for the show I guess and the fun of the first season. With Max being in heat etc.
Dark Angel rules!

The first season was pretty good television. Definitely jumped with the second. But it's hard to blame it for it. The first season was great because of the cyberpunk and dystopic elements, although it was clearly something that could not continue post-9/11. The second season's shift to a formulaic Buffy ripoff was a terrible direction.
Also, I found Jessica Alba much more attractive with some meat on her bones.
