Vote for why you think it jumped
Never Jumped
No real end to the show
Day One
The Steerminator
Inspector Gadget ripoff
Shark Bytes
How is Darkwing Duck an Inspector Gadget ripoff? Tell me, how? Because I see some people have voted THAT as the reason the show jumped. If DWD was a "ripoff" of anything, it was Darkman (name and costume) and Batman. And then, it was merely INSPIRED by them. People will find any reason to say a good show sucks.
Darkwing Duck kicked butt. "No real end to the show" is a shark jump reason? People will make up any reason for a show to jump the shark! Which Darkwing Duck never did.
How the heck is "No real end to the show" jumping the shark? By definition, "jumping the shark" is the point at which the show is no longer believable/enjoyable, so saying there was no "real end" is purely criticism at the show and NOT jumping the shark. It's like criticizing a radio program for poor visual effects, it's totally irrelevant.
Little kids are missing out!
Instead of cartoon classics like DWD, they get SpongeBob, The Fairly Odd Parents, and teh Naked Brother Band.
WTF!!!
It jumped the shark after they just stopped airing.

It doesn't matter if looking back the cartoon itself was corny as hell. The theme song just. kicked. ass.
Solid entertainment from beginning to end. Darkwing was a superhero, but the setup of his life was like in the real world. He was just some guy with a psychotic compulsion to fight crime, and managed to do it in between raising a daughter and maintaining that plane. And any show with Launchpad McQuack cannot fail.
When they introduced the Negaverse. Most fans like to think archfoe Negaduck - the evil counterpart of Darkwing Duck comes from a parallel universe dubbed "The Negaverse," but that was refered to in just one episode. I prefer to think of him as a lookalike who dresses like Darkwing (ducks tend to look alike, y'know) since the Negaverse was explained only as being a "secret hideout" with no follow-up as to how Negaduck was able to construct the portal that took him there. Everyone likes Negaduck, but the Negaverse stuff is a shark jump.
i see people saying this show had no real ending. that's nonsense. watch the final episode conveniently titled "extinct possibility". quick synopsis: some scientist finds "someone who looks and dresses like darkwing" fossilized in amber and calls darkwing to investigate. darkwing uses quackerjack's time machine to go back in time and figure out who it is that's trapped in the amber. this is clearly the worst idea ever. to make a 22 minute story short, darkwing ends up getting trapped in the amber in some cute freak accident. they [the writers] basically killed him off right there, but because this is a disney cartoon, gosalyn and launchpad are able to travel back to the future and free him from his amber prison *two million years* after the fact. you gotta love those disney endings. anyway, i love the show; and negaduck and the rest of the fearsome five rock.
NEVER EVER JUMPED! I just wish it hadn't been pulled from Family Channel. The show made me laugh well into my late teens.
Didn't jump... And the villain in "The Steerminator" didn't replace Steelbeak, he was Taurus Bulba, the villain from the very first episode, "Darkly Dawns the Duck", who we all thought was dead. God, I'm a geek- the above is all from memory, and I probably haven't seen an episode in 8 years.
Darkwing Duck jumped the shark after the "Steerminator" episode. Why? They got rid of Steelbeak (my fave) and replaced him with this stupid cyber bull who was VERY flat in comparison!
This show never jumped the shark. And i'm not just saying this because the majority of the vote tolls for DW. I have been watching Darkwing Duck since either 1995 /1994 when I was in 5th grade I remember coming home from school watching it on tv, then again at 5:00 on Disney (was channel 25 then)Now I can watch DW, Duck Tales, Tailspin, and especially Bonkers and Goof Troop whenever I want because I have Dish w/ Toon Disney. I really enjoyed watching the caped drake, or the masked mallard in disguise, DW is just one of those shows that is a win-win situation because with shows like Hercules and 101 Dalmations on the air at TDisney, they Make DW and TS look good, and even without those shows, DW would still look good.
One of Disney's better efforts in the Disney Afternoon line-up; alas buried in the Disney Club at obscure hours in England and now totally unbroadcast on terrestrial. A masterpiece of voice acting from Jim Cummings, some great episodes and at least a vague attempt at character development. Comic, with a nice take up of the Man From UNCLE - FOWL's logo remind you of anything? Or how about the name of the agency DW freelances for - SHUSH? Has to rank up there as my favourite Disney cartoon ever.
