I wonder how a 1980s version of Electra Woman & DynaGirl would have fared, with "Kate & Allie" stars Jane Curtin and Susan St. James assuming the roles not only of their housewife identities, but those of the Spandex Superheroines...
ALLIE: Activate Electra-Change!
KATE: My God--we're not gonna strip to our underwear, are we? I saw you do that on "THE HIGH COST OF LIVING"!
ALLIE: Don't worry, Kate...it's a simple procedure! I just press the button on this giant box...
LIGHT SHINES, TRANSFORMING ALLIE INTO ELECTRA WOMAN AND KATE INTO DYNAGIRL.
KATE (exclaiming): FABULOUS! Talk about Electra-Gratification!
ALLIE: We really should thank Lori and Judy for the use of these Electra-Comps...as well as our costumes and the crime lab where we're going...

They for sure need to be bring back Electra Woman & Dyna-Girl. I Think Markie Post plays Electra Woman and Dyna-Girl Played By Lindsay Lohan. All of my eyes would light up fast.
EW&DG was the best show in the whole Krofft library that NEVER JTS, not even the attempted 2001 revival on CW with Markie Post and Anne Stedman. FOX should bring this series back as a regular on its 4KIDS TV rotation, with baseball commentator Jeannie Zelasko in the Electra Woman role and a much-slimmed-down Ricki Lake as DynaGard, a more mature name for DynaGirl. I always wondered if the ladies in the Electra-vator ever had orgasms when undergoing the ElectraChange into those sexy costumes!
"...as far as Deidre Hall goes, she was the alpha MILF long before the term had ever been invented."
I just read that line for the first time at work today, busted out laughing, nearly fell out of my seat, then had some explaining to do to co-workers.
Couldn't have said it any better myself. I defy anyone anywhere to find a more true statement about anything in any media!

Electra-HOT! I fondly recall the delicious sensations I'd get whilst viewing this Krofft gem back in my formative years... caught some clips on the YouTube and fell right back in love with it all over again! Judy Strangis was the perfect blend of annoying and sexy, and as far as Deidre Hall goes, she was the alpha MILF long before the term had ever been invented. Sure, the episodes were crap, but who the hell tuned in for the plotlines anyway?! And for the record, I've seen the 2001 pilot for the proposed remake and Markie Post would have made a fine (and I do mean FINE) successor to the classic superheroine role. Hope they iron out the hassles and get EW&DG out on DVD already. WAY past overdue!
Judy Strangis.. I can't help falling in love with you! I remember you with love! My Dyna Girl!! The best!
The short-lived one season wonder never jumped. There should have been more episodes though than the eight that was shown during season one. The mid-to-late 1970s was a incredible zenith for female crime fighters (i.e. Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman, Get Christie Love, etc.) and Electro Women and Dynagirl was no exception. I didn't see the series on the "Krofft Supershow" however because I was only a year or two old at the time. But I did see it as an installment of "Captain Kangaroo" during the 1978-1980 season and remember this one very vividly. Not Surprising, I always saw Frank as Capt. Kangaroo as if both were the same person, Dynagirl who sometimes ad-lib such phrases as "Electro WOW!" or "Electro anything" had ponytails like the cartoon character Penny on "Inspector Gadget", and that Elton John-like character with the ultra fluorescent lime green afro and eyeglasses with star-shaped rims is actually Glitter Rock who only appeared in one episode with his own name in the title and he sidekick almost looks like Mr. Kotter of "Welcome Back Kotter" if you stretch it. After Capt. Kangeroo dropped the 8 episode segment, EW&DG become a distant memory.......until Columbia House re-released 10 VHS tapes which includes the first five two-part episodes of EW&DG in separate sections. Another one has landed as part of the 3 DVD set "The World of Sid and Marty Krofft". The remaining two have also survived, but rarely run. There would have been far few eps to rerun this as a series in any case. In my opinion, the cast and crew must have worked all summer of 1976 during the series that all they had finished were enough for 8 two-part episodes. And those dazzling campy psychedelically colors all around. EW&DG is a must see for any Sid and Marty Krofft fan!!
Ok, the show never jumped--any hot girl like that in Spandex in the 70s--no way to jump! I think though Sid and Marty Krofft were beginning to jump on their own though--most of the later shows sucked bad--except Pryor's Place!
Never jumped as it was cheesy from day 1 and knew it. The secret to these gals was the big-ass bracelet boxes on their arms. If it weren't for the Guy in the cave on the Mainframe they would have died in episode one. My memories include the Elton John-like evil singer with the neon green jockstrap outside his pants, and me telling Dyna Girl to "Electra-Shut Up Already!" in response to her Robinesque cries of "Electra-Wow!" and "Electra-Confusing!" and such. Holy pigtails!
