I thought Carmen was good on that show even though she was the only non-Latina in the bunch. The girl who replaced her was good looking, but not as good as Carmen. Which ever girl was there, I love watching the George Lopez show; I think a little more emphasis could have been on Benny, his mother.
Oops! I meant to say in it the network ended the show and not everyone in the show is Mexican. So if you catch those mistakes I am sorry.
While I agree with the one person that this show is somewhat racist towards Latinos in the way it depicts them, but, you must remember a few things. George Lopez was actually the one with the idea for the show. It was wasn't warped by the network to fit American TV because the network was the one who wended it and the actors (who are obviously Latino) fought to try to to get it back. If you go down to Latin America most of their shows make fun of Latinos. I recognize this because that area is predominately Latino ( so Latinos can take a joke) and America is predominately white. So down there it is comedy but up here it is racism. But, why is it racist in America to pick on a minority but fine to make fun of a majority? My final thing is not everyone in the show is Latino. Angie is supposed to be Cuban in the show and the actor who plays Carmen is actually Romanian in real life.
I love GEORGE LOPEZ.Its alwsome. Its one of my fav shows. I use to watch DISENY CAHNNEL but then i heard about GEORGE LOPEZ.
If I were Mexican, I'd be offended by this show, mainly because of George boasting that it's the only show about Mexicans lasting long enough to reach syndication. It was the ONLY show about Latinos, so it was the only game in town. Just like when Bill Cosby cleaned up on that God-awful "A Different World" back in the early '90s. George Lopez earned his mansion(s) by portraying his people as lazy, shiftless, underachieving drunks living way beyond their means.
No offense, but this show seriously helps nurture existing stereotypes of Mexicans. George's character is a factory worker who's never been to college, his son does badly in school and is held back (honestly, can you say "el stupido?"), his mom has no responsibility whatsoever and acts like a bratty teenager who never grew up (the fact that she was impregnated with George as a teenager does NOT help, trust me), his daughter is a wannabe whore who seems to want to date as many boys as possible to alleviate her very low self-esteem... the only saving grace is his wife, who seems normal, responsible and smart (apparently she was a honors student back at her high school)... only God knows why she married George when she could have gone to COLLEGE and actually have had a good life.
George himself acts like an irresponsible and mature idiot sometimes... he hates studying and does not encourage his children to work hard so that they do not have to be in the same poor, low-class position as him. He doesn't seem to care about their futures at all. (Can you say "irresponsible?")
Also, honestly, what are the chances that in real life, their house would be as nice as the one depicted on set? The family has a mountain load of debt and the only incomes they get come from George's low-paying factory job and the wife's novice wedding planner business. They live in Los Angeles, people. LA is NOT cheap, lemme tell you that.)
Anyway, while the show is occasionally a bit funny, this only happens when the show pokes fun at its own hispanic characters with racial jokes. Most of the time, the jokes arise from characters saying incredibly corny dialogue, like George Lopez's infamous "Wotcha!" noise. Simply put, the George Lopez Show makes Mexicans look like complete dumba$$es. It does absolutely nothing to reverse the ideas that Mexicans are actually intelligent and have the potential to better society, instead furthering society's stereotypes that they are irresponsible and a bunch of idiotic sheep barely getting by on the fringes of society's generosity. The show is an embarrassment to Mexicans everywhere.
Way to go, George.

Nick @ Night is awesome!I love watching Fresh Prince,Home Improvement, and most of all,George Lopez! It's sooo hilarious! How everyone makes fun of his head, and on Fresh Prince how he makes fun of is cousin Carlton all the time!SO FUNNY!On the other hand,Rosanne or whatever is called is the most terrible show ever made! But the rest is funny so if some of you people doesn't think its funny, then you must be way way wayyyy crazy!
Can someone please explain to me what the deal is with Lopez's head? They always joke about his head being to big! Is that just a joke someone came up with for a part of the show? Please, inform me!!! I want to know if his head is really that big and he decides to laugh at it. I know in the show when they have flashbacks to him as a kid, they graph his head onto a kid or baby's body. I do admit it's a little big, but it doesn't seem to much bigger than anybody else's head! Someone explain this!!!
I started watching when it came on nick and I'm in love with this show. Its funny as hell. I dont understand all the negative comments. Are we watching the same show?
