Hi there,
I am trying to find out if Hard Time on Planet Earth is available on DVD - all thirteen episodes!.
It aired in Australia in early 90s and I taped it on video - but not all the episodes. I would like to collect it in a more lasting format.
Can anyone help??
My email is matildar@ozemail.com.au
regards,
Matilda
Loved the show, and found a few episodes on tape even. Will be featuring clips here and there of the show on YouTube.com.

The episodes I have and episode guides seem to suggest that he was proven innocent of what he was sent to Earth for, and managed to get a message back to his planet about it. However, the shows ends with him still on Earth.

Favorite episode, the one where he joins the Army. As a warrior he fit right in.
'Hard Time on Planet Earth' never jumped the shark!!! This was one of my favorite shows because it was so interesting and cool to see a flying eyeball follow Martin all the time. Mind you, It's hard to imagine that I was only seven years old when this show debuted. One of my favorite episodes was when Martin and Control were in Disneyland and the Electric Parade was going on; suddenly, all the lights went out. I can't remember what happened after that. Hopefully for all the people who watched this show, your memories might be refreshed.
Show was pretty neat if you could JUST get past the premise -- you can make someone an instant body. Of course this was because we were to get up close to the character and, great way to save on costumes. Nobody questions his lack of a surname.
Hard Time on Planet Earth was a short-lived series that ran on CBS in the late 80's. It featured Martin Kove (formerly of Cagney & Lacey) as Jesse, an belligerent alien sentenced to Earth in human guise to learn humility. Watching over him, imparting his unique wisdom of Earth matters, is his floating conch-shaped overseer, Control. One of Jesse's first tasks on Earth is to get his naked ass covered, so he "borrows" a mechanic's suit from a garage with the name "Jesse" embroidered on it. Most of the time Jesse finds himself coming to the rescue of some plot-device-in-distress, flexing lots of muscle, and then leaving as unquietly as he came. And most of the time, Control was as useful as breasts on a bull. His knowledge of Earth life was about as reliable as a fifty year-old copy of Fodor's that's gone through the intestinal tract of the shark that ate Quint. Control got all the best lines, delivering commentary meant to be taken seriously by Jesse, but which left the audience in stitches. ("Hood ornaments on cars are valuable currency. You'll need several." So Jesse rips them off of cars as a cop walks up. OOPS!) Foreshadowing Terminator3, a member of Jesse's race comes to Earth in female form to seduce and destroy him. "You're here to terminate me," Jesse declares as he finally figures out what the woman is up to. If I remember correctly, Jesse is forgiven by his people and allowed to leave Earth. It was an amusing way to pass an hour. Any other memories would be welcome.
