I liked the show..Then I heard her snort and looked up at my TV and she had Chrissy Snow pigtails and I thought open sharks mouth cause she jumped the sharks and flipped and is chum chum. However, by going and writing those funny books and discussing healing autism in her child:Amazing! Plus she looks so cute with Jim Carey..I say redeemed.
Jenny McCarthy is only to be taken in small doses and 30 minutes is way too long to ask to deal with her. The hot chick who farts acts disgusting is only funny for about a minute. The reason she even became popular was because she was on a show where she wasn't the focus. Needless to say, The Jenny McCarthy show jumped on day one. There were a few funny skits must most of the time, it was just plain annoying.
The Jenny McCarthy Show never jumped the shark. Good Lord, we're talking about an extremely talented and vivacious comedienne, who's right up there in that paragon of great funny ladies, including Carmen Electra, Whoopi Goldberg, and the immortal Patti Deutsch!
This show was doomed from the start. The Hanson appearance was actually the one saving grace. They are one of the most underrated bands around today (yes, they are still around today...sheesh). You don't have to like it, but it's the truth.
TJMS had the FUNNIEST skits I have ever seen! Like, the skit "Invisible Dead People" was absolutely HILARIOUS... i dunno... it seems if something is too funny, the have to yank the show off the air and keep all the stupid and unoriginal comedy on forever.
It's a cryin' shame that Jenny McCarthy's boobs apparently didn't have enough silicone in them to keep this sinking ship of a show afloat...
Day One! Jenny McCarthy just didn't have the natural charisma that makes people WANT to watch a show. BTW--Did anyone ever notice how much male-bashing there was (i.e., in the puppet sketch, she accuses Greenie of "looking at [her] boobs" and beats him up)? I wonder if Jenny has some issues with men. I mean, between the sketches here of her beating up men and slandering old boyfriends (calling one a "dork" because he was lazy), and that "do not touch Jenny" crapola on SINGLED OUT--what's the deal? It's okay for her to pull men up by their shirts and scream at them, but if someone looks at her wrong, she cries foul. Double standards will lead to no good end--wait! Maybe she could join one of the REAL WORLD casts, who thrive on double standards! But I digress. I agree with the previous poster who said the musical guests were pretty good (i.e. THE ROOTS), but that may have been eMpTyV's admission that they couldn't squeeze enough acting out of Jenny and her co-stars to fill the entire half-hour, so they had to put the musical guest in to pad things out. Of course, sketches like "Bill the Helpful Pimple" show how devoid of ideas the writers already were, IMHO. Let's hope she's invested the money she made wisely--the royalties from commercials might not pay the rent. PEACE!
This show was alright, but I never ONCE saw any non-whites on this show.
when they had hanson as the musical guest that killed it's musical credability but the sketches were still top notch. twas an icecreamtastical show w/ aside from the afformentioned blemish which caused the jump had some phenomenal musical guests i.e. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Fountains of Wayne, The Wallflowers. it was a very hip show that quite often had me laughing out loud. probably among MTV's 5th worst choice of dropped shows. right after The State, Sifl & Olly, Station Zero and Idiot Savants
oh I used to watch that show...I don't know why! It was sooooo bad!!!! I can't believe it was soo bad!!! good move for MTV to get that thing off the air!!! the only good part was when veruca salt came on the show!! it was BAD
It was a pretty good show. Funny with sometimes a excellent musical guest...But Hanson...Mmmm bop! Ugh, jump in the shark!
Despite my original misgivings at Mtv giving former singled-out co-host, Jenny McCarthy, her own variety show, I was shocked to discover just how damn funny it turned out to be. For the brief period of time that it was on the air (and yet MTV will leave a glorified circus geek like Tom Greene?!) this show had some absolutely hilarious skits (including Jenny fighting a group of sex-starved muppets for staring at her breasts while on a children's program), and performances by musical guests that you'd actually WANT to see perform (Erykah Badu, Cake, Fun-loving Criminals). Yet another well-made show that got yanked off way too soon.
