Great Show!!! One of the funniest ever. Great performance by Jamie every time. I think Virginia was my favorite character.
A cheap Candid Camera rip-off. This show jumped even before day one.
Never Jumped. It was surprising, because I saw this show and thought "oh, just another hidden camera show", but it was actually quite good. The gags were fun, and Jamie Kennedy actually did quite a good job pulling off the intricate setups. Of all the hidden camera shows, I think this was by far the best.
This show schools all other hidden camera shows. The best skit is the one with Bob Saget and how they break in his house...
"You've been X'd..." Huh? What the hell does that mean? What a horrible attempt at a hidden camera show. Totally unoriginal and hosted by a one trick pony "comedian" (a term i use loosely). How it stayed on for as long as it did just goes to prove people will watch ANYTHING.
As soon as you see the show's lame-ass title, you know you're in for trouble. JKX - the Jamie Kennedy Experiment? Give me a break. Here's an experiment you should try, Jamie: doing a gag that looks remotely believable. None of the costumes look real at all; it's obvious that it's just some doofus in make-up. The prank 'victims' play along, of course, because they know they're probably on T.V. and might get a small check. Quite sad. Jamie should hire a team of people of different ages and races to play more believable parts... that'd help a lot. As it stands, Mr. Kennedy has built a minor career out of having next-to-no talent. Which, I guess, is actually a pretty good prank.
The show jumped because it clearly fake or the people know its Jamie Kennedy or that something is going on. For example, he has that prank where he pretends to be a black Oprah woman talk show host. No person could ever think he is a black woman or a woman at all. It¥s clear he is wearing a mask and nobody can be fooled by that. All prank shows end up falling flat but the JKX show was the one to run out of steam the fastest. The white rapper thing got lame by the second time he did it. So did the judge thing. Plus I agree with the poster that they all look like Jamie. He probably thinks they are all great costumes but they aren¥t and the people are only fooled because they are in with the joke.
From the beginning...this show was never funny. The scenes look so setup it's not even funny. Who¥s gonna buy this guys disguises??
To the joker above who said that this forum is just a way for people to see something they write posted online, no it's not! JKX is just a bad show. Oh, another show where a guy with a camera fools people and then exposes the hilarious results, how innovative. Oh, you're going to dress up and pretend to be something you're not and catch it all on film? Give that man an Emmy! In reality this is just another hackneyed rehash of Candid Camera. This show is not spontaneous, is poorly written and produced and features an annoying twit as the centerpiece. I don't care to see this online and I won't return to this show's forum. It's a BAD SHOW. It's a BAD, UNORIGINAL show.
This show represents the problem with many 'Jump The Shark' contributors who simply want to see what they've written posted on a public site. It is just way to early to say this show has jumped. Although a remake of 'Candid Camera", Kennedy's elaborate setups and genius ad libbing are still fresh and outrageously funny. Plus, based on his quick thinking and uncanny timing, I get the feeling that Jamie will quit the show once he feels it's turning into a bad parody of itself. One poster was angered that Kennedy sometimes needs to explain the premise of the gag. Again, this represents a flaw in the viewer, not the show. This poster is basically saying that he doesn't like the idea that Kennedy expects the viewers to think. As stated above, the entire show is based upon intricate setups that often REQUIRE an explanation. The setup is the joke, the reactions are the punchline. I'm sorry that you so are used to being spoonfed simple-minded garbage that, unless you have a laugh track guiding you through the 'comedy', you are incapable of understanding what's happening.
This show was AMAZING until they changed the set, and now they have tons of 20 somethings (who should REALLY get a life) screaming and yelling behind him. The set was WAY better when it was a simple black room with a few people in it. Also, it jumped when the bits got so complicated that he had to explain them before he did it. What's the fun in that? And what the hell is up with the "commentary" during the bits?? And why do they have to travel around the U.S.? If I WANTED to see Candid Camera, I would. This show could have BEEN something. Oh well.
This show is AWFUL. There really no point to it being on the air anymore. The premise of the show is SO overdone. I mean my god, give me a camera I can do that crap. Tricking people on air? It's been done.
The latest episode I saw was playing pranks with a baseball team, some unknown comedian with pauly shore helping out. This show is becoming too much like 'punked'.. Also, it seems like there isn't much payoff. Used to be he'd either drag out each skit longer, or be meaner (the voodoo doll in new orleans was so surreal), and now it's like 3-4 short lame skits. He needs to get back to his roots!
Jamie once described this show as "Candid Camera meets MAD TV." Even though most of the bits are funny, I think some of the people recognize that it's Jamie in makeup and they play along just so they can get on tv. It seems no matter what they do to alter his face he still looks like Jamie. He needs to have a crew of unknowns helping him with some of these gags. It's still a lot funnier than the now tame candid camera.
I love this show, it's like a Candid Camera for a new generation! I loved the episode where they broke into Bob Saget's house, great stuff! Or when he was a driving instructor and he told his student to make a stop by his ex-wife's house, and she was this chunky woman who was chasing him while swinging a baseball bat. Or the episode where he brought a group of gardeners to a seminar on gardening which really was at his house and they were doing all of his yard work while he watched football. Jamie Kennedy is hilarious! I just wish the WB would put it on a different night other than Thursday because I'm hardly home on that night, but when I am, I always watch The Jamie Kennedy Experiment!
